Chapter Website Services Project Goal Provide Regions and Chapters with an affordable and easy to use way to create and maintain a web presence for their memberships while maintaining a consistent brand between the chapters and the association.
Features Top feature requests (March 2009 survey): Member only area Ability to link to other sites Online registration Posting of documents and photos Calendar of events Easy to upload content
How Will It Work? Site hosting by ARMA International Web content management system Event calendar and registration Integrated login / identity Option available to all chapters & regions
Hosting & Technical Hosting bandwidth & disk space Monitored but not initially restricted No “penalties” Access Content manipulation through web content management system File / media upload through web content management system
Web Content Management Allows creation of unlimited number of pages Automatically handles navigation / menus Simple to upload and link / embedding of images and other media
Event Calendar & Registration Administrators can configure events Registration fees may be split by member/non-member Registration fees remitted immediately to chapter Calendar of events viewable by all, registration requires login
Integrated Login / Identity Members and Non-members login using the same credentials used for access to resources on International sites. Login required for event registration, registrant’s personal info tied to profile at International. “ Protected Content” option allows content to be indexed by search engines, but requires login (member-only optional) to view.

Editor's Notes

  • #4 ARMA International’s Strategic Plan, Goal 3, Issue 1 calls for increased collaboration between chapters & International. Several chapter and region leaders have inquired about assistance that ARMA International may be able to provide in the areas of website hosting and other technology initiatives. ARMA International developed a survey to better understand Chapter Technology needs. Responses were solicited from all chapters in March 2009, 66 responded, 52 completed the survey.
