The document discusses the importance of lifelong learning for people of all ages. It proposes several initiatives to promote education for children, adults, and older generations. These include:
1) Creating online learning environments and educational games for K-12 students.
2) Developing authoring tools to help teachers create interactive e-learning content.
3) Training teachers on online teaching skills and encouraging content sharing.
4) Holding talks to inspire parents' roles in children's education and help older parents educate their families.
The overall goal is promoting education throughout life to nurture good citizens, help people pursue their dreams, and maintain a spirit of curiosity.

My keynote presentation to the AADES conference in Melbourne 2013.
Abstract: What does learning look like in a world that is increasingly networked? How can we harness the ever-increasing range of online technologies to support effective learning? What are the implications for teachers, for students, and for the wider community? And what are the implications for distance education providers as the boundaries blur between them and traditional face-to-face providers?
In this keynote address Derek will explore current trends in education and how these are re-shaping how we think about schooling, teaching and the role of learners. He will provide insights into how we need to respond these questions in order to meet the challenges of learning in a networked world.

Building a Hybrid Learning Environment - Augmenting the Classroom with Conver...Atul Pant
How can teachers create a hybrid learning environment to augment their classroom teaching with online conversation and collaboration. This presentation, which I made at Allahabad University in Oct 2012, looks at the reasons why a hybrid approach is much needed and gives an overview of mostly free tools that can be used to create such a learning experience.
2. The kids should learn
something…
• THE KIDS IS OUR FUTURE. They should be educated something not only
new but also interesting, not only necessary but also creative, not only right
but also true, not only wise but also generous! Just like “Dear Teacher … “
written by Abraham Lincohn
• Who teach them those things? Absolutely their school teachers!
• Where is the role of their parents at home? Rushing in earning money?
Feeding them only? Being in divorce? So many troubles and situations!
• Where are their friends after school time? Online violent games?
Pornographic sites? Facebooking and chatting all days? Engaging in
disturbing neighbors?
• We all expect our children to be - first of all - A GOOD MAN (at least not to
threaten the society), then A GENIUS (to contribute some inventions in
humanity development like Steve Jobs) - of course - if they could be!
• So should we rely only on the pedagogic methodology of the primary/
secondary teachers and their attitudes to teaching career?
COULD WE DO SOMETHING BESIDES STANDING STILL AND WISHING?
3. What we do?
• We train the trainer by changing their mind in teaching their pupils!
• We create the kids’ playground - the online learning environment for K-12
where they can play with their lessons, view the simulation experiments or
take the online tests via playing educational games
• We create the teachers’ powerful assistant - the online authoring tool and
learning management system for teachers to compose their interesting e-
learning content simply and effectively, then teach their pupils online every
time and everywhere
• We train school teachers how-to skills how to create interactive learning
materials for learners’ attraction, how to teach online with efficiency
• We go to as many schools as possible to mobilize the campaign “One
teacher - one e-lecture” for e-learning content community sharing
• We hold the “Parents, what you really know about your children?” talk-show
sessions to inspire adults about their true role in children education
4. When the kids grown up, they
still should learn some more
• The kids are now adults, they are intensively changing from learning by
basic instinct to learning by cognition
• They should become a good man with truly human characteristics
• More importantly, they should have a dream, a good dream with all of their
unconditional passion, and the motivation to make their dream come true.
COULD WE DO SOMETHING
TO KEEP THEIR
“STAY HUNGRY, STAY FOOLISH” SPRIRIT?
5. When they getting old, they
still should learn some more
• To update the current behaviours and reactions of the society where
they are living in
• To get the youth’s trends of their children so that they can educate their
sons without negative effects which coming from their children due to
the differences in culture – the gaps of old and young generations
• To learn something interesting, again! Learning never late!
COULD WE DO SOMETHING
TO HELP OLD PARENTS
IN THEIR HOME EDUCATION?
