! Dark tunnel of under privileged youth
! Light end of the tunnel: Social Business
! Project Goal
! Social Business Idea: Pizzeria
! Success Story
3. Dark Tunnel of
Underprivileged Youth
Youth is not only future of the nation but also the main
strength to build a nation. But if they are under privileged,
nation can not stand on strong foundation.
Most of the under privileged youth are subject to lack of
proper employment, health care, education, social services
etc.
Under privileged youth is not only the issue in the developing
countries but also problem for developed countries.
Bangladesh is a least developed country (from where I am).
As like other developing countries she also suffers with under
privileged youth. Government here can not focus alone on
this group to support them for bundle of limitations.
4. Light end of the tunnel:
Social Business
! Social business can be a great solution for the underprivileged youth
in the context of unemployment, lack of education, malnutrition etc.
! According to Yunus' definition, a social business is a non-loss, non-
dividend company designed to address a social objective within the
highly regulated marketplace of today. It is distinct from a non-profit
because the business should seek to generate a modest profit but
this will be used to expand the company’s reach, improve the
product or service or in other ways to subsidies the social mission. *

Humanity's Most Pressing Needs. PublicAffairs. pp. 256. ISBN 978-1586489564.
5. Project Goal
! To develop new business space where new business plan can
implement for the youths.
! To overcome poverty, or one or more problems (such as
education, health, technology access, and environment) of
under privileged youth.
! To ensure Financial and economic sustainability
! Investors get back their investment amount only; no dividend is
given beyond investment money
! When investment amount is paid back, company profit stays
with the company for expansion and improvement
6. Social Business Idea:
Pizzeria
! Establishment of business such as pizzeria shop
where the youths will be employed.
! A small pizzeria can create employment for 4/5
people using little investment and off course it
will ensure delicious and quality pizza to its
customers.
7. Action Plan
! Generate social business fund for social business
(here for pizzeria)
1.1 Fund can be collected from a business man or
from group of business men.
1.2 Fund can be gathered from hundreds of general
people like us .
1.3 Fund can be collected by private public partnership.
8. Action Plan (Contd)
! While we have fund we will go for survey for suitable place
for pizzeria. Initially we will start with single pizzeria.
! In this pizzeria 4/5 people can be recruited.
! Investor will get return of their investment but will not get
any single cent after that (so, Investor will not get any
profit)
! Profit that will come from pizzeria will go to same pizzeria
to expand and to extend it.
9. Expected Feedback
! One pizzeria can ensure employment for 4/5 people.
! Workforce can get market wage with better working
conditions.
! No stress to make profit which will allow to do better
business with more social commitment.
! If pizzeria project is successful, same idea (social
business) can be implemented for more pizzerias
that will give same mentioned benefits subsequently.
10. Success Story
Social business idea is already implemented by Prof. Yunus
and his organization in Bangladesh. Same success story can
be used in any part of the world. Only social business can
solve many problems of under privileged youth.
! Grameen Danone Company which went into operation in
early 2007, produces yogurt for under privileged people to
fulfill their nutrition with very low price.
! The Grameen System has invested in a second social
business in an Eye Hospital where the poor can get their
eye treatment and cataract operations at a very low cost.
11. Be social,
Do Social Business
