The cerebellum is divided into three subdivisions: the archicerebellum, paleocerebellum, and neocerebellum. It contains nuclei and receives connections from the inferior cerebellar peduncle and cerebellar peduncles. The cerebellum is composed of cells like Purkinje cells, climbing fibers, and mossy fibers. The archicerebellum maintains trunk equilibrium and tone, the paleocerebellum controls limb posture and movements, and the neocerebellum coordinates skilled movements. Blood is supplied by the superior, anterior inferior, and posterior inferior cerebellar arteries. Cerebellar syndromes can result from trauma, vascular issues, or tumors.
