This lecture discusses methods for measuring central tendency and dispersion in statistical samples. It will cover the mean, median and mode as measures of central tendency, and how these values can differ for skewed distributions rather than normal distributions. It will also discuss standard deviation as a measure of dispersion, and how this indicates how spread out the data is from the mean value. Examples are provided to illustrate these concepts for non-normally distributed real-world data.
