Gary Fournier contributes to the Center for Learning Unlimited
(CLU).
The CLU day school for ages K-12 specializes in teaching
students with complex learning challenges. The staff of speech
and language instructors, doctors, and psychologists encourages
self-directed learning, mastering state academic standards, and
building social skills.
One aspect of CLU’s mission is its relationship-based activity
program, intended to enhance education for students with bipolar
and attention deficit disorders, learning disabilities, and
Asperger’s syndrome.
CENTER FOR LEARNING UNLIMITED
 The program assists participants in making
friends, treating others with respect, and
increasing empathy. Help is available to both
those enrolled in CLU and in mainstream
schools.
The center has achieved remarkable results
with relationship-oriented interventions. Some
90 percent of CLU students return to their
original schools. Sixty percent obtain their high
school diploma, and 70 percent go on to earn a
college degree.
