Has Cloud crossed the chasm of adoption? How can you tell? This presentation starts to explore what services are required for true adoption of Cloud (hint: last mile services for Cloud) and how Cbeyond is leading this.

SQL Server, Exchange Server, Lync, SharePoint Server, Dynamics CRM, System Center Servers…
These are the optional services that you can add to just the environment.VLANYou can add VLAN and you might need two VLANs: you want one to handle the financial data that you’re moving back and forth and you might need one to handle web traffic, and you don’t want those two to talk to each other. These are going to be things that the customer will know to ask for and the IT people and Sales Engineers will have these conversations. IP AddressesThis is the same with the IP addresses; there are reasons why people would need them or not need them. StorageStorage is fairly self explanatory. One of the things going forward with us is that we have tiered pricing. Currently, we were selling it for a $1/GB, and we’re cutting that to half price and lower. If you’ve already got the private environment, you already have 500BG, so you’ve already capped the $0.50 tier—you don’t even start at tier 1, you start at tier 2. We monitor how much you used and then charge you for it. Instance Based Firewall Service with SSL VPNStill hashing out with engineering. It’s critical that this gets launched right. You add this only to the public environment, and it allows someone to connect to the TCDC the way you would in private, which then allows for the whole mapping for drives, which we know is a customer requested item. Right now, in our virtual server land, a customer cannot say, “I want my G-Drive in my office to be the cloud server and when I tell people to save to G-Drive, it’s in the cloud and it’s safe.” We cannot do that right now unless you buy physical server and you’re then raising the price up to the $600 range, which is too much for the file server. So this $35 add-on, we believe, will let the public environment do that -- so then we can sell file servers in the $200 range instead of the $500-$600 range. Again, right now it’s just listed as an option. As we start talking about use cases, solutions and how to sell this product, this will come more into play on certain solutions.
