System 1 (Fast)
• Unconscious

System 2 (Slow)
• Conscious
• Controlled
• Deliberate
• Slow
• Hard work to use
Whilst we like to identify with System 2 (as a conscious,
reasonable person that makes good choices), most of the
time we are being controlled by System 1
System 1 is highly gullible and likely to generate “fake news”
When System 2 is off line we will believe almost anything
System 2 is much more likely to be “off line” when we are
tired and depleted
