Batman vs Superman
The film was made by DC Comics who joined together with DC Entertainment and
Allas Entertainment. The camera used to film was an IMAX camera.
Other films the production company had made are: Suicide Squad, Man of Steel,
War-craft, Batman Logo.
The budget for the film was $200 million. Also the film was made in the Us from
September 2013 to December 2014. However the release date had been postponed
several times.
The distribution company was the Warner Bros. The film is available worldwide on
the 25th of March 2016. The film was promoted through: trailers, social media,
posters, on-screen advertising, adverts and hash-tags.
The film is based on comic books and the genre is action, fantasy and adventure.
The stars of the film are: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams.
OUR FINDINGS
Star Wars was created by the production company ‘Lucas Films’ which is
owned by Walt Disney. The director for the film was J.J Abrams.
Additionally, the film took two years to make as the production process
began in January 2013.
Star Wars was filmed in Ireland, Scotland and Iceland (internationally) and
the film was made using high tech cameras which were positioned on
cranes. Also they used a Medusa performance capture system. The budget
for the film was $200,000,000.
The three main genres that are captured in Star Wars are: action,
adventure and fantasy. The idea was based on the blockbuster movie
‘Return of the Jedi’ and it is a continuation of it.
PRODUCTION
The film was distributed by Walt Disney Studios, which had an international
release. The release date for Star Wars was the 17th December 2015, which
was viewed in cinemas such as: Oden, Vue, Cineworld, etc. As the film is still
currently in cinemas there is no DVD or Blue-ray copy. The movie is also a
tent pole film.
There was a cross-media convergence when Star Wars released games on
PS4 and Xbox on November 17th 2015, which was before the release of the
film, as it wanted to appeal to a younger audience.
There was a technological convergence within their phone app as it brings
together games trailers and access to buy tickets for the movie, as well as
snapchat features.
DISTRIBUTION
The main stars of the film are: Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke
Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and John Boyega (Fin).
The film was distributed by a trailer which had a big hit on YouTube with over
85million views. Also social media pages were created for publicity: Instagram,
Facebook and Twitter.
Furthermore, the Star Wars app allowed promotion to the film as it gave an
insight for the audience by having Star Wars character as emoticons to place on
selfies, and also they have an interactive game to connect with the audience.
Furthermore, Star Wars had a synergous link with Subway to help promote their
film.
Critics:
‘Our critic was never a Star Wars fan. This time he laughed, cried and cheered at
a breathtaking sequel by JJ Abrams with genuine heart and soul.’ – The
Guardian.
‘The wait is over. The movie event of the year is here.’ – Rolling Stone.
MARKETING
The film can be viewed in 3D, IMAX and Sony’s 4K screens.
The box office weekend was $250 million and the current box
office gross figures is $2 billion.
EXHIBITION
The Survivalist is about a time of starvation, and a survivalist who lives of a small
plot of land has hidden deep in a forest; when two women seeking food and shelter
discover his farm and he finds his existence is threatened.
The Survivalist was in the official selection of the 59th London Film Festival. It is also
screening at Galway Film Fleadh which is Ireland’s leading international film festival.
The production company for The Survivalist is Fyzz Facility Film One. They have also
produced films such as: Awaydays, Magpie and Insulin.
The Budget for the film was only £1 million.
The writer and director of the film is Stephen Fingleton. The main stars in the film
are: Mia Goth, Martin McCann, Andrew Simpson and Owlen Fouere.
The genre of the film is Drama, Sci-Fi and Thriller.
The Survivalist also has a Facebook page where it can communicate with fans and
provide updates about the film.
The Survivalist was released on the 12th February 2016. The film has a national
release consisting of: London, Manchester, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The film was released in some cinemas in London such as: Stratford East Picture
House, Ritzy Brixton, Greenwich Picture house and Picture house central.
The distribution company for the film is Bulldog Film Distribution. The company has
distributed other films such as: Dragon Hunters, Missing London and Margin Call.
The Survivalist made $13,899 in the box office.
Stephen Fingleton is the writer and director for the film and he was nominated for a
BAFTA Award. Also the film was nominated for a BAFTA Award for ‘Outstanding
Debut.’ The film won the award: British Independent Film Award Douglas Hickox
Award (Directorial Debut).

  • 2. The film was made by DC Comics who joined together with DC Entertainment and Allas Entertainment. The camera used to film was an IMAX camera. Other films the production company had made are: Suicide Squad, Man of Steel, War-craft, Batman Logo. The budget for the film was $200 million. Also the film was made in the Us from September 2013 to December 2014. However the release date had been postponed several times. The distribution company was the Warner Bros. The film is available worldwide on the 25th of March 2016. The film was promoted through: trailers, social media, posters, on-screen advertising, adverts and hash-tags. The film is based on comic books and the genre is action, fantasy and adventure. The stars of the film are: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams. OUR FINDINGS
  • 3. Star Wars was created by the production company ‘Lucas Films’ which is owned by Walt Disney. The director for the film was J.J Abrams. Additionally, the film took two years to make as the production process began in January 2013. Star Wars was filmed in Ireland, Scotland and Iceland (internationally) and the film was made using high tech cameras which were positioned on cranes. Also they used a Medusa performance capture system. The budget for the film was $200,000,000. The three main genres that are captured in Star Wars are: action, adventure and fantasy. The idea was based on the blockbuster movie ‘Return of the Jedi’ and it is a continuation of it. PRODUCTION
  • 4. The film was distributed by Walt Disney Studios, which had an international release. The release date for Star Wars was the 17th December 2015, which was viewed in cinemas such as: Oden, Vue, Cineworld, etc. As the film is still currently in cinemas there is no DVD or Blue-ray copy. The movie is also a tent pole film. There was a cross-media convergence when Star Wars released games on PS4 and Xbox on November 17th 2015, which was before the release of the film, as it wanted to appeal to a younger audience. There was a technological convergence within their phone app as it brings together games trailers and access to buy tickets for the movie, as well as snapchat features. DISTRIBUTION
  • 5. The main stars of the film are: Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and John Boyega (Fin). The film was distributed by a trailer which had a big hit on YouTube with over 85million views. Also social media pages were created for publicity: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Furthermore, the Star Wars app allowed promotion to the film as it gave an insight for the audience by having Star Wars character as emoticons to place on selfies, and also they have an interactive game to connect with the audience. Furthermore, Star Wars had a synergous link with Subway to help promote their film. Critics: ‘Our critic was never a Star Wars fan. This time he laughed, cried and cheered at a breathtaking sequel by JJ Abrams with genuine heart and soul.’ – The Guardian. ‘The wait is over. The movie event of the year is here.’ – Rolling Stone. The Survivalist is about a time of starvation, and a survivalist who lives of a small plot of land has hidden deep in a forest; when two women seeking food and shelter discover his farm and he finds his existence is threatened. The Survivalist was in the official selection of the 59th London Film Festival. It is also screening at Galway Film Fleadh which is Ireland’s leading international film festival. The production company for The Survivalist is Fyzz Facility Film One. They have also produced films such as: Awaydays, Magpie and Insulin. The Budget for the film was only £1 million. The writer and director of the film is Stephen Fingleton. The main stars in the film are: Mia Goth, Martin McCann, Andrew Simpson and Owlen Fouere. The genre of the film is Drama, Sci-Fi and Thriller. The Survivalist also has a Facebook page where it can communicate with fans and provide updates about the film.
  • 8. The Survivalist was released on the 12th February 2016. The film has a national release consisting of: London, Manchester, Ireland and Northern Ireland. The film was released in some cinemas in London such as: Stratford East Picture House, Ritzy Brixton, Greenwich Picture house and Picture house central. The distribution company for the film is Bulldog Film Distribution. The company has distributed other films such as: Dragon Hunters, Missing London and Margin Call. The Survivalist made $13,899 in the box office. Stephen Fingleton is the writer and director for the film and he was nominated for a BAFTA Award. Also the film was nominated for a BAFTA Award for ‘Outstanding Debut.’ The film won the award: British Independent Film Award Douglas Hickox Award (Directorial Debut).
