2.  The presentation is based on case 29: We All
Know Her.
 Thesis: How Ad campaigns and media in its
printed form effect today’s generation by
manipulating our perception of a healthy body.
Trends establish an unrealistic standard of
beauty, making us feel obligated to follow
them.

3.  Media and the fashion industry become the
puppeteers, controlling the audience’s values of self-
worth, shifting it from intellectual into shallowness.
 Creating celebrity-obsessed phenomena and raising
actors and celebrities’ prestige as a strategy so they
can spread standards of beauty.
 Media is giving the celebrities a glamorous status to
make them appealing, alluring us into these values
and standards.
 Celebrities and models becoming cultural icons
based only on their image.

 Developing a positive body image and a
healthy mental attitude is crucial to a woman's
happiness and wellness.
 Healthy doesn’t mean skinny but the media
and fashion industry forcing them to believe
otherwise.
 Promoting youth and thinness by presenting an
ideal that’s difficult to achieve and maintain.

 Ana Carolina, a Brazilian model weighting eighty-
eight pounds, at five feet, eight inches, died of
complications of anorexia.

7.  Fight:
 Barbie get real campaign by Galia Slayen : Barbie
stands about six feet tall with a 39" bust, 18" waist,
and 33" hips. These are the supposed measurements
of Barbie if she were a real person.

8.  Isabelle Caro, a French actress and model
whose anorexic image appeared in a shock
Italian ad campaign at the Italian fashion week.

9.  Men:
 Having the same pressure to look skinny or
ripped.

10. Abercrombie and Fitch:
 The usage of very young and thin models (teens), portraying
them as adults.
 Their ever-shrinking sizes and only offering small sizes, the
normal regular to big sizes are only available online as a
strategy to have a “thin store front”.

 Manurexia: Jeremy Gillitzer was once a male model
with stunning looks and a six-pack later his body
got ravaged by anorexia he weighed just 66
pounds, He end up dying at the age of 38.

13.  Bigorexia: an obsession about being muscular,
it’s an under-diagnosed condition because, for
men, being big is acceptable. It leads to Illegal
drug abuse at the gym such as the harmful
steroids.

 The Fashion industry represented by the

 Clothing companies: less materials, more profit.
 Cosmetics and diet products industries, profits
are rapidly increasing by the month.
