The document describes a participatory healthcare service designed to empower diabetes patients in a low-income Brazilian community. Designers worked with patients and healthcare employees to develop a new service using co-design workshops. The goal was to educate patients and help them better self-manage their diabetes through understanding their condition and necessary actions for treatment. The design process followed the Double Diamond method of discovery, definition, development, and delivery to create tools that visualized treatment and allowed for continued community involvement and co-creation of the healthcare system.
