2. Introduction:
Carum is a genus of about 20 species of flowering plants in
the family Apiaceae.
The plant is similar in appearance to other members of
the carrot family, having finely divided, feathery leaves
with thread-like divisions.

It has 4-7% volatile oils;

Limonene
5. Used for:
Carminative
Aromatic
Flavoring agent
Stimulant
Stomachic
As a vehicle in children's medicines
As a spice
6. Side effects:
In some cases it may led to miscarriage.
Long term use if caraway lead to kidney failure and liver
damage.
Those with sensitive skin should avoid caraway as it may
lead to rashes and itching.
