CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Career education programs help students and adults achieve the following
goals –
• Knowledge of personal characteristics, interests, aptitudes and skills
• Awareness of and respect for the diversity of the world of work
• Understanding of relationships between school performance and future
choices
• Development of a positive attitude toward work
• Identification of other digital citizenship concepts
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
Students and adults who complete career education programs have the
following positive outcomes -
• Enhanced academic, personal, and teamwork skill development
• Amplified career awareness, self-esteem, sense of direction and clearly
defined goals
• Increased self-awareness, intrinsic motivation and positive self-concept

NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT
GUIDELINES
The 21st Century Model and Skills is –
• Collaboration of the efforts of education, business and government
organization
• 21st century learning framework that outlines the essential learning,
innovation, technology and career skills necessary to be successful in the
today’s workplace
21ST CENTURY SKILLS MODEL
The National Career Development Guidelines (NCDG) have three domains,
goals and mastery indicators.
The three domains are:
• Personal Social Development (PS)
• Educational Achievement and Lifelong Learning (ED)
• Career Management (CM)
NEW JERSEY CORE CURRICULUM
CONTENT STANDARDS
The New Jersey Department of Education Content Standards connect the 21st
Century Model and career education.
For example,
• In K-5 grades, students learn the interrelationship between 21st-century life
skills and personal, academic and social development.
• The development of 21st-century life skills and personal financial literacy
continues in the grades 6-8.
MISSOURI COMPREHENSIVE
GUIDANCE PROGRAM
The Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE) is a career and technical
education curriculum, research, professional development and innovative
instructional resource center.
The Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE) Guidance Lessons
(Strands) are –
• Academic Development
• Career Development
• Personal and Social Development
USE OF E-PORTFOLIO
The e-portfolio can be used to show the relationship between job interests, key
characteristics, college majors, hobbies, abilities and related careers.

The My Rainbow Career Finder was developed
from a series of printed, electronic, virtual and
digital resources.
MY RAINBOW CAREER FINDER
FEATURES
The My Rainbow Career Finder program is an
alternative to the paper and pencil RIASEC kid
career test.
The program is an automated poster scoring
system that automatically produces the three
letter Holland Code based on the selection
that the children provide.
Upon completion of the report, we will send
you a PDF report.
Supplemental web-based resources include
career videos and web sites.

CAREER EDUCATION & E-PORTFOLIOS Career e-portfolios – • Use digital media tools during career and academic activities • Record and document the identified skills, interests, potential careers and possible training options • Build decision-making, communication and life skills to develop their self- concepts and values

CAREER EDUCATION PROGRAMS Career education programs help students and adults achieve the following goals – • Knowledge of personal characteristics, interests, aptitudes and skills • Awareness of and respect for the diversity of the world of work • Understanding of relationships between school performance and future choices • Development of a positive attitude toward work • Identification of other digital citizenship concepts

NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES The 21st Century Model and Skills is – • Collaboration of the efforts of education, business and government organization • 21st century learning framework that outlines the essential learning, innovation, technology and career skills necessary to be successful in the today’s workplace
  • 7. 21ST CENTURY SKILLS MODEL The National Career Development Guidelines (NCDG) have three domains, goals and mastery indicators. The three domains are: • Personal Social Development (PS) • Educational Achievement and Lifelong Learning (ED) • Career Management (CM)
  • 8. NEW JERSEY CORE CURRICULUM CONTENT STANDARDS The New Jersey Department of Education Content Standards connect the 21st Century Model and career education. For example, • In K-5 grades, students learn the interrelationship between 21st-century life skills and personal, academic and social development. • The development of 21st-century life skills and personal financial literacy continues in the grades 6-8.

MISSOURI COMPREHENSIVE GUIDANCE PROGRAM The Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE) is a career and technical education curriculum, research, professional development and innovative instructional resource center. The Missouri Center for Career Education (MCCE) Guidance Lessons (Strands) are – • Academic Development • Career Development • Personal and Social Development

  • 11. KID CAREER E-PORTFOLIO The My Rainbow Career Finder was developed from a series of printed, electronic, virtual and digital resources.
  • 12. MY RAINBOW CAREER FINDER FEATURES The My Rainbow Career Finder program is an alternative to the paper and pencil RIASEC kid career test. The program is an automated poster scoring system that automatically produces the three letter Holland Code based on the selection that the children provide. Upon completion of the report, we will send you a PDF report. Supplemental web-based resources include career videos and web sites.
