Abstract—This study was aimed to find out the maternal factors and fetal outcomes associated with anemia in 3rd Trimester pregnancy. A hospital based cross sectional descriptive type of observational study was carried out in 15 to 49 years who had undergone delivery at SP Medical College Bikaner. Information about the demographic profile, ANC factors and foetal outcome data were collected. To find out associating factors appropriate test of significances were used. The magnitude of anemia 91.3% (995/1090) was found high in third trimester of pregnancy. Caste, dietary – habit, Education, Occupation, Socio-economic status, ANC Visit, Iron and folic acid supplementation were associated (P<0.05)>0.05) with anemia. Although IUGR, premature births and still births were observed respectively 2.56 times (95% CI: 0.615 to 10.697 ), 1.3 times (95% CI: 0.723 to 2.351 ) and 0.651 times (95% CI: 0.286 to 1.481 ) in anemic mothers but it was not found significant with anemia status. But significantly more (35.5%) low-birth weight babies were born to anemic mothers as compared to ( 14.7% )among non- anemic mothers i.e. 3.181 times (Odds ratio) higher LBW babies in anemic mothers. Anemia in pregnancy may be reduce by proper Iron and folic acid supplementation which can be improved through IEC and providing proper ANC services.

This document discusses the need for core outcome sets in clinical trials to address issues like inconsistency in outcomes reported across trials and differences in how outcomes are defined and measured. It notes that outcomes that are statistically significant are more likely to be fully reported, and that studies reporting positive results are more likely to be published. The document provides an example from a trial that analyzed outcomes based on astrological birth signs to illustrate "fishing for effect". It defines a core outcome set as an agreed standard set of the most important outcomes for a specific condition or treatment that includes both benefits and harms.
Mental health cluster a session two 280411lmabbott
1) People with mental illness are more susceptible to poor physical health due to unhealthy lifestyles, medications, and barriers to healthcare access.
2) Physical activity can improve mental health - studies show it reduces depressive symptoms and has similar effects as cognitive therapy.
3) Improving physical health for those with mental illness requires a multi-pronged approach, including discussing physical health at appointments, flexible assessments, ensuring follow-up care, and partnerships between patients, families, and clinicians.
Sepsis is a common and deadly condition, but diagnosis in not always knowable in real-time. The optimal treatment during times of diagnostic uncertainty differs across patients. Despite this reality, sepsis performance is uniformly assessed and reported for a population knowable only in retrospect—the patients ultimately judged to have sepsis at hospital discharge. This limits effective audit and feedback to incentivize clinician behavior. Personalized, real-time assessments of a patient’s risk of death and likelihood of infection could instead be used to guide treatment recommendation and performance assessment. Clinicians and health systems could be judged on whether their responses are appropriately calibrated given the urgency of the situation. Were antibiotics prescribed at an appropriate time given the urgency of the patient’s clinical status? With the information available, were the best treatment decisions made? Did treatment plans change as new data became available? Organizing treatment recommendations and performance assessment by risk of death and likelihood of infection could optimize sepsis care.
This document discusses late term abortions, defined as occurring after 12 weeks of pregnancy. How to relationship between body wight and pre diabetesShantha Lokuge
This document summarizes a study on risk factors for pre-diabetes among persons in Sri Lanka. The study aimed to identify pre-diabetes patients in a local area and examine relationships between pre-diabetes risk level, fasting blood sugar, age, body weight, physical activity, and lifestyle. Questionnaires were used to assess risk factors. Statistical analysis found no significant relationships between body weight and fasting blood sugar, age, risk level, or work pressure. The results suggest other unknown factors influence body weight more than the variables examined in this study.
This document discusses obesity, gestational diabetes, and pregnancy outcomes. It reports that maternal obesity has a stronger influence on childhood obesity in offspring than gestational diabetes alone. Obesity and gestational diabetes have synergistic effects in increasing risks during pregnancy like macrosomia and cesarean section. Screening and treatment of gestational diabetes improves neonatal outcomes, but maternal obesity remains the main risk factor to address.

This document discusses birth defects as an upcoming public health problem in Bangladesh. It notes that while overall child mortality has decreased, the impact of congenital malformations has increased due to a lack of prevention strategies and limitations in management. Bangladesh faces various risk factors for birth defects, including high fertility rates and practices like consanguineous marriage. The document estimates that globally about 4.8 million infants are born with birth defects each year, and birth defects are one of the leading causes of neonatal death in Bangladesh. It discusses challenges in addressing birth defects and the need for strategies like fortification of staple foods with folic acid, as well as developing resources and infrastructure to better define, collect data on, prevent, and manage birth defects

Ueda2016 woman’s health & diabetes - lobna el toonyueda2015
This document discusses how diabetes differs and is managed for women at various life stages including puberty, pregnancy, and menopause. It notes that diabetes has more severe health impacts and higher mortality for women compared to men. During puberty, diabetes can delay menarche and cause menstrual disturbances. Gestational diabetes requires screening and treatment during pregnancy to prevent complications for mother and baby. Women with a history of gestational diabetes have a high risk of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. The document provides guidance on managing diabetes throughout these various stages.
PolyCystic Ovary Disease -PCOD in Female Adultskonnectkbs
Recent Advances In Obesity And PCOS: Clinical And Nutritional Management
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) affects 4-12% of women and is characterized by irregular periods, high androgen levels, and polycystic ovaries. PCOS is associated with obesity, insulin resistance, infertility, increased risk of diabetes and heart disease, and psychological burden. About 50% of women with PCOS are overweight or obese, which contributes to insulin resistance and impaired glucose tolerance. Lifestyle interventions including modest weight loss through calorie restriction and increased physical activity can help manage PCOS symptoms and comorbidities by reducing insulin levels and body weight.
The document discusses whether prediabetes is a valid medical diagnosis or a healthcare marketing tool. It outlines the criteria for diagnosing prediabetes according to the American Diabetes Association (A1C of 5.7-6.4%) versus the World Health Organization (A1C over 6.5% only). While lifestyle changes can prevent or delay diabetes, the ADA promotes drug treatments for prediabetes, raising concerns they prioritize pharmaceutical interests over public health. Overall, the validity of prediabetes as a condition is debated as it may cause undue anxiety and benefit healthcare agencies more than patients.
On Gestational Diabetes By Final Year Students Of KmdcZia Khan
The document summarizes a study that examined the relationship between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) among pregnant women. The study found that 22% of women with GDM had a clinical history of PCOS, compared to only 4.6% of women without GDM. Additionally, women with both GDM and PCOS tended to be older, more obese, and have higher rates of family history of diabetes compared to other groups. The study concluded that GDM was 5.9 times more associated with clinically diagnosed PCOS than the controls.
Comparative study to assess the Effect of Standing Position & Sitting Positio...Kailash Nagar
This study assessed the effects of standing and sitting position on blood pressure readings in 80 normotensive subjects. The majority of subjects were female, aged 21-30 years, weighing 31-50kg. Blood pressure was measured in both sitting and standing positions. The results found that blood pressure was higher when measured in the standing position compared to sitting position. Specifically, 55% of subjects had normal blood pressure while standing compared to 66.25% while sitting. More subjects also had pre-hypertension while standing (36.25%) than sitting (28.75%). The study concluded that body position affects blood pressure measurements, with higher readings observed in the standing position among normotensive individuals.
As long as knowledge on inherence, diagnosis and preventive measures are limited to very few people, it is difficult to control the spread of the genetic anomaly in our population. Apart from lack of comprehensive knowledge, The findings in this study showed a high level of general awareness about the existence of SCD but comprehensive knowledge about the cause and prevention was low and associated with vast misconceptions. A large percentage did not see its importance in influencing their marital decisions. Perhaps simple interventions that worked in the western countries can also work in India.
This document summarizes several systematic reviews and meta-analyses that evaluated lifestyle interventions during pregnancy to influence weight gain and outcomes. The reviews found that dietary and lifestyle interventions can effectively reduce gestational weight gain without negatively impacting birth outcomes. Specifically, dietary interventions led to the greatest reduction in weight gain. The interventions also reduced the risk of preeclampsia but did not consistently affect other maternal or neonatal outcomes. However, the quality of evidence from the included studies was low to moderate. Larger, higher quality randomized controlled trials are still needed to confirm the findings. Overall, lifestyle interventions show promise for restricting weight gain during pregnancy but more research is required to fully understand their effects on health.

8 Surprising Reasons To Meditate 40 Minutes A Day That Can Change Your Life.pptxHolistified Wellness
We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.
