2. 3 main components of IDMP:
1. to support stakeholders at all levels to improve
national drought monitoring and management
policies (DMP) – to increase preparedness and
reducing drought impacts;
2. to demonstrate concrete measures (in demonstration
projects) that can be later used in drought
management policies
3. to provide capacity building and knowledge transfer
to water and other managers from drought affected
sectors in approaching drought management in
integrated manner
