The eContent Services portfolio has responsibility for the provision of licensed electronic resources and datasets to support the research and teaching of the University. The library has a materials budget of over $8 million with 85% of this expended on electronic resources - principally under licensed agreements. Currently the University Libraries is looking to appoint the key role of Electronic Resources Team Leader. 
Key areas of responsibility in the role include: 
 Manage the documentary life cycle of licenses for electronic resources with reference to Library and University systems compliance 
 Provide expert input to the optimum use of Library systems and their relationships with provider data sources for electronic resources control and discovery 
 Specify and develop expert reports and analytics for electronic resources to support evidence based management of electronic resources 
 Undertake specialist investigations, data gathering, analysis, prepare reports and recommendations to support the eContent Services Librarian 
 Assign and monitor workloads of team members 
 Provide expert help to assist team members resolve complex problems

Ideally suiting individuals with experience working with systems relating to electronic resource management in a research library setting, it is expected the successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the issues relating to the management of electronic resources, understand the trends and developments in scholarly publishing and the ability to organise and supervise staff in a small team setting. It is expected the successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in a relevant field and be eligible for professional membership of Australian Library and Information Association.

Position Summary: 
The University of Adelaide is a leading research intensive university that provides world class education and research across a full range of academic and professional disciplines. 
The Division of Services and Resources comprises 7 Branches which provide enabling services and the resource capacity to support the University’s teaching and research goals and activities. University Libraries comprise the Barr Smith Library, the Elder Music Library, the Law Library, Waite Library and Roseworthy Library. Library services include selection, acquisition and management of a broad range of physical and electronic resources, and professional staff to support research, teaching and learning. 
The eContent Services portfolio has responsibility for the provision of, and access to, licensed electronic resources and datasets to support the research and teaching of the University and also, under the management of a Digital Services Librarian, for the University’s institutional repository - and the provision of digital online content required for teaching purposes through the University student learning system within Australian Copyright Law and applicable Licences. 
Working under general direction the Electronic Resources Team leader provides expert knowledge in the management and control of electronic resources. The position is also responsible for managing the operations and supervision of the staff for the acquisition and maintenance of access to electronic resource and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders in operations and services. 
Scope 
Library services are provided to a population of over 22,000 students (of which about 28% are international students), and over 1,300 academic staff. 
Library holdings exceed 2,200,000 items, with 20,000 new monograph volumes catalogued and 3,500 bound volumes of journals accessioned in 2010. The libraries subscribe to approximately 3,000 printed journal titles and 63,000 electronic journals. The Library lends 500,000 items annually, including 12,500 items to other Australian libraries.

Where appropriate, staff will initiate and participate in worksite inspections, accident reporting and investigations, develop safe work procedures and provide appropriate information, instruction, training and supervision.
