Purples Day Out!
“No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are
thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth.” - Robert Southey
It was yet again a time to celebrate and relive the cherished memories of college life. PSGR
Krishnammal College for Women was proud indeed to host the Mega Alumni Meet at our
college premises on the 8th
of December, 2018.
Purples Day Out turned out to be a beautiful
amalgam of the oldand the new, of tradition and
novelty, of the infallible constant that define
Krishnammal and the variables that are necessary for
progress. It was truly a remarkable sight to see so
many women come together to celebrate their
youthful days as they filled the campus with joy and
life, yet again.
An ineffable aura of joy and elation pervaded
the campus of Krishnammal, as friends greeted each
other with warm hugs and an instinctive smile on
their faces. From students who have recently finished
their journey in the college to the first student to
have ever graduated from the college, the day
celebrated the friendships that were formed and
maintained through the years.

Our Student Parliamentarian
entral Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs
conducts National Youth Festival every
year. This year it was a mega event with
active participation of youth across the country-
renaming the event as National Youth Parliament
Festival (NYPF). Organized by the NSS wing, the
competition took place at 3 stages: District, State and
National. Four topics were given at each stage that
took place in the model of elocution and
parliamentary set up with the finals at New Delhi.
With district level at Coimbatore, state level at
Chennai and National level at New Delhi, Asvitha
represented Coimbatore at the National event as a
delegate in Vigyan Bhavan on 27th February, where
Hon. Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi addressed
the students. Nearly 2000 members between the age
group of 18-25 took part in the event from all parts of
the country. The event indeed connected India
culturally, ethnically, linguistically, religiously and
geographically that NYPF was a perfect picture of
united India in diversity. It served as a platform to
debate and discuss various issues of the country that,
post the event each and every individual knew a
person from all the states in the nation.
Asvitha had a chance to visit Ambedkar
International Centre too on 26th Feb, where the
competition took place and was privileged to be one
amongst the voice of new India. The program was
telecasted live on DD National and the video was
uploaded on YouTube.
“Journey to New Delhi for NYPF didn't
just provide me a platform to express my thoughts
and opinions about India but it took me to the next
step of becoming a better citizen of the country
through active
participation in
the society,”
recounts Asvitha.
Thus it was a
memorable
experience of one
week that made
all events
nostalgic and
remarkable.

is said that college days are the best
years in any student's life and this is
certainly true in my case as I fondly
recall my days spent as a Masters student of
Literature in Krishnammal. Being a part of this
esteemed institution helped me to grow in ways that
I never thought were possible! I still love and cherish
every minute I spent here since it provided me with
an excellent set of professors who guided me every
step of the way and also paved the way for my career
prospects.
Becoming a teacher who handled the
IGCSE syllabus in the Indian Public School was all
possible due to the wonderful campus placement
opportunities that were available to me during the
completion of my course. After teaching for two
years, I decided to pursue my Masters in
Education in Lakehead University, Ontario,
Canada all thanks to the continued help and
support from the professors who were my greatest
well-wishers. I firmly believe that I am now able to
successfully integrate myself as an international
student meeting the requirements of a foreign
university all thanks to the feedback I received
during my period of study in Krishnammal.
The valuable feedback I received for
improving my writing skills and the excellent
guidance I received for my final year MA project
were immensely helpful and continue to have an
impact on me even today.
Being a part of this institution has moulded
me in more ways than one and it has certainly
helped me to travel and explore places outside my
comfort zone. I owe a lot to the institution, my
professors, my peers and to all the continued help
and support I still receive even after passing out
and becoming an alumna.

  • 2. Purples Day Out! “No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other's worth.” - Robert Southey It was yet again a time to celebrate and relive the cherished memories of college life. PSGR Krishnammal College for Women was proud indeed to host the Mega Alumni Meet at our college premises on the 8th of December, 2018. Purples Day Out turned out to be a beautiful amalgam of the oldand the new, of tradition and novelty, of the infallible constant that define Krishnammal and the variables that are necessary for progress. It was truly a remarkable sight to see so many women come together to celebrate their youthful days as they filled the campus with joy and life, yet again. An ineffable aura of joy and elation pervaded the campus of Krishnammal, as friends greeted each other with warm hugs and an instinctive smile on their faces. From students who have recently finished their journey in the college to the first student to have ever graduated from the college, the day celebrated the friendships that were formed and maintained through the years.

  • 14. is said that college days are the best years in any student's life and this is certainly true in my case as I fondly recall my days spent as a Masters student of Literature in Krishnammal. Being a part of this esteemed institution helped me to grow in ways that I never thought were possible! I still love and cherish every minute I spent here since it provided me with an excellent set of professors who guided me every step of the way and also paved the way for my career prospects. Becoming a teacher who handled the IGCSE syllabus in the Indian Public School was all possible due to the wonderful campus placement opportunities that were available to me during the completion of my course. After teaching for two years, I decided to pursue my Masters in Education in Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada all thanks to the continued help and support from the professors who were my greatest well-wishers. I firmly believe that I am now able to successfully integrate myself as an international student meeting the requirements of a foreign university all thanks to the feedback I received during my period of study in Krishnammal. The valuable feedback I received for improving my writing skills and the excellent guidance I received for my final year MA project were immensely helpful and continue to have an impact on me even today. Being a part of this institution has moulded me in more ways than one and it has certainly helped me to travel and explore places outside my comfort zone. I owe a lot to the institution, my professors, my peers and to all the continued help and support I still receive even after passing out and becoming an alumna.
