What is Enrollment Management?
Enrollment Management is an organizational structure that gives a
university the ability to exert influence over the shape, size and
the characteristics of a class to achieve the institution’s enrollment
goals, improve persistence and graduation.
3. How does Enrollment
Management work?
Enrollment Management is strategic in its
focus and uses evidenced-based research
Creates synergies with key departments and
stakeholders, and improves communication
Recognize that the ability of the institution to achieve its
goals is influenced by the quality of the experience of
perspective students at all points of contact
Acknowledges that student choice is also
influenced by the experiences of others

Editor's Notes
The national and local enrollment landscape is changing around us... and we have had to adapt
Education in the State of California is rapidly evolving and State support has sharply declined
UCLA managed application growth without a strong balance of strategic planning
We often functioned in a transactional way with our client base
Enrollment Management is a new concept introduced to UCLA
We received new demands to increase out of state and international numbers
We had to change our business model
Who we recruit and enroll impacts on institutional goal
