1. Medieval Europe played a major role in trading after the fall of the Roman Empire. By Cameron Grube
2. Trade Resumes After the fall of the Roman Empire, trade started to stop. With no one fixing the roads, it became harder to trade. The Europeans sent Nobles to repair the roads and bridges. They also enforced the law, which protected the bridges and roads from further damage.
3. Trade Is Encouraged Even though trade resumed, it still wasn’t very popular. The French were already trading on a regular basis, but not many other people were trading after it resumed. To encourage trade, the people of France held trade fairs. The fairs made trade more popular.
4. The Use of Money As trade became more popular, people wanted to use coins as money. They weren’t using money before that because trade was so successful. As the demand for the use of money grew bigger and bigger, the people from France decided to use money again.
