Increasing productivity and client satisfaction


      The 2nd Annual LCI Australia Conference will be August 28-29 at
       RMIT University in Melbourne.

The conference committee invites proposals for presentations from practitioners
in Lean delivery in any stage of the project cycle: plan, design, construct or
operation of facilities. We are interested to hear about improvements in practice,
process innovation, new techniques, cultural challenges/issues and commercial
terms on projects or in company transformations .

Topics of interest include:

   1) General LEAN

      Starting and sustaining an ongoing transformation on project or in
       organisations?
          o resistance to and motivation for change
          o resources required
          o problems encountered and solutions.

      Costs and benefits achieved through lean implementation?
          o results including both traditional measures and longer term benefits
          o cost of implementing change

   2) Owner Initiatives

      Owners influence on their supply chains and on project outcomes?

   3) Lean Practices, Tools and Behaviours

      Presentations by people who have implemented lean to improve
       performance:
          o Operational innovation, changing the way work gets done
          o Information technology to improve communication, BIM, planning
          o Impact on non-financial outcomes such as quality, safety,
             operations
          o Innovation enhancing communication and cultural alignment.
Guidelines for abstracts:

     Presentations will be 30 minutes in duration, with 15 minutes for Q&A.
      Total 45 minutes.

     The abstract should emphasize the significance of the results and/or
      major technical merits of the final paper and presentation.

     Please submit a 100 - 200 word abstract.

     Deadline for submissions = June 1st, 2012.

     Decisions will be made and notifications delivered by June 15th, 2012

Submitted abstracts should include:

         1. Session/Presentation title.
         2. General topic area and objectives.
         3. Overview on what the audience will learn.
         4. Presenter name, job title and FULL contact details
            phone/mobile/email.
                If doing a joint presentation with a client/case study please
                  provide full details of the co-presenter.
         5. Please indicate whether LCI can upload the presentation after the
            conference on the LCI Australia website.
         6. Please provide a Marketing contact so that we may ensure the best
            possible promotion of your participation in the conference.

Selection criterion includes:

     Topic relevance and presenters involvement in lean delivery
     Presentation of findings from a holistic perspective
     Presentations advertising services will not be accepted
