This document discusses a project called Ribble Life Together that aims to improve the natural heritage of the Ribble catchment area through increased volunteer involvement in data collection. The project will deliver various habitat restoration projects and interpretive materials. There is a need to improve decision making about the catchment with better data. An existing mobile app called River Obstacles was identified that allows volunteers to record obstacles to fish migration, which could provide more data to inform management decisions with minimal costs. The document outlines testing of the app and concludes it is a valuable tool to capture more heritage data and engage volunteers, though training is needed to ensure high quality data.
