This document announces a seminar on context-aware and ambient applications that will explore how embedded intelligence can be used. The seminar will discuss how computing is moving from mainframes to desktop PCs to being everywhere. As an example, it describes how an intelligent cellphone could automatically switch to vibration or silence its ringer based on the user's context like being in a busy station, business meeting, or relaxing without direct interaction. It provides the dates and registration details for the three group meetings that will make up the seminar.
