Senior Control Systems Engineer responsible for the design of control systems for oil and gas
facilities, including crude oil separation and treating facilities, gas compression facilities, gas
treatment (including dew point control and sweetening), gas plants, refinery and pipelines. As a
Control Systems Engineer I worked with the Process Engineering Group during the early phases
of the projects to define the control system philosophy, emergency shutdown philosophy, and
relief and blow down philosophy. As a Senior Control Systems Engineer I prepared
specifications for the facility control system, communications system, and fire and gas detection
system. Duties included development the control system architecture, along with control logic
diagrams and cause and effect diagrams. In this capacity I played a key role in the development
of the facility control room design and layout. Additional duties included the preparation of
instrument specifications and data sheets, and the preparation of the Instrument Index and I/O
List. In this position I maintained an important role in the development of the facility P&ID’s,
and participates or leads special studies such as hazards analyses and HAZOP, control room
ergonomic studies, and start-up feasibility studies.
As a Senior Controls Systems Engineer I am fully conversant with industry standard design
codes (AGA, API, ISA, IEEE, ASME, ASTM, IEC, SP84 etc.), and familiar with DCS systems
used in the upstream oil and gas industry.

resolve problems and maintain required schedules and cost control. Material requirements and
control valve sizing, pipe wall thickness calculations for both internal and external pressure and

for lo-loss, and v-cone and meters. I was a member of various design groups involved in the

for and mechanical/instrument engineer for the Katy,Conroe and Friendswood gas plants and Beaumont
refinery for Exxon Mobil USA and Shell Oil.
France Development, Lyon France 09/2004 – 12/2005
Project engineer for Instrument/Mechanical Engineering for various projects for the ELF and Fina
refineries in Lyon and Marseilles. Duties included valve and meter specifications and Safety Integrity
Systems design DCS and PLC control systems. All projects were followed from the design through
completion.

Project Engineer for Instrument/Mechanical/Electrical engineer in the special projects group involved
twenty seven fast track projects. Worked directly with my client counterparts at Enterprise Products
Company, Exxon-Mobil USA, Exxon-Mobile Pipeline and BP Offshore. The various projects included
liquid and gas pipelines, meter stations, compressor and pump stations and amine units. Duties and
responsibilities included control valve sizing, flow meter selection, scheduling, cost control, scheduling
and budget control and specifications.

Instrument / Electrical Engineer for the Corral Gas Energy gas pipeline and compressor station.
Design of control system for gas turbine driven compressors and electrical system including UPS System
and motor control center. PLS Logic diagrams and startup procedures including
Commissioning. Duties included flow measurement, electrical calculations, data sheets and specifications.
Universal Ensco Engineering, Houston, TX 12/1994 – 09/1999
Instrumentation and Automation Engineer for Transco lean burn conversion on six compressor stations.
Each compressor station contained four to eight electrical control of three dehydration units. Duties
included P&ID development, cause and effect charts and instrument specifications. Additional projects
include four- unit turbine driven compressor station in Russia for the Enron Corp. and three new
compressor additions for the Columbia Gulf Transmission Company and an1100 mile gas pipeline with
twenty compressor stations.
Gulf Interstate Engineering Houston, TX 08/1992 – 05/1994
Project Engineer for Instrument / Electrical for the Canadian Oxy production facility and island power
station in South Yemen. The facility consisted of a 360,000 BBL/day production unit powered by a
25MW power station. Duties included specifications, equipment testing and inspection and
PLC programming. After completing the design in Houston, performed the start-up of the power
plant and assigned to the start-up of the production facility as Sr. Startup Engineering Manager.

analyzers to operate the plant. Additional duties included instrument and valve specifications, logic
