Barn owls originate from India and France and can be found in farm lands, grasslands, and woodlands. They eat small rodents like rats and mice, as well as larger prey such as rabbits, ducks, bats, chickens, and guinea pigs. Barn owls have grayish brown and white spotted feathers, a white heart-shaped face, and large talons for catching prey. Females are typically larger, darker, and more spotted than males.
