Brown bears, also known as grizzly bears, are omnivores that eat a wide range of foods including meat, insects, fish, berries and plants. They live in forested and mountainous habitats across parts of Europe, Asia and North America. Adult grizzly bears typically grow to over 7 feet long and weigh between 500-800 pounds. Though once widespread, grizzly bears now only inhabit Alaska, Canada and remote areas of the western United States.
