Web 2.0 101: Understanding Web 2.0 and its Impact on Technical CommunicationScott Abel
The Semantic Web is coming and it's bringing major changes to the ways that people create, manage, deliver, consume, and share technical information. This session introduces Web 2.0 and its tools and technologies, and examines how they are changing the landscape of technical communication. Discover how Web 2.0 methods make it possible to deliver "content as a service" and to empower customers to personalize technical content in useful and exciting new ways.
This slide deck has been prepared for a workshop on Linked Data Publishing and Semantic Processing using the Redlink platform (http://redlink.co). The workshop delivered at the Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics at Università degli Studi dell'Aquila aimed at providing a general understanding of Semantic Web Technologies and how these can be used in real world use cases such as Salzburgerland Tourismus.
A brief introduction has been also included on MICO (Media in Context) a European Union part-funded research project to provide cross-media analysis solutions for online multimedia producers.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The simplified electron and muon model, Oscillating Spacetime: The Foundation...RitikBhardwaj56
Discover the Simplified Electron and Muon Model: A New Wave-Based Approach to Understanding Particles delves into a groundbreaking theory that presents electrons and muons as rotating soliton waves within oscillating spacetime. Geared towards students, researchers, and science buffs, this book breaks down complex ideas into simple explanations. It covers topics such as electron waves, temporal dynamics, and the implications of this model on particle physics. With clear illustrations and easy-to-follow explanations, readers will gain a new outlook on the universe's fundamental nature.

18. Personal Message
Minsu Kang - buk.io CEO
In this digital age, I believe that books must evolve into a web of
knowledge much like web sites, cross-linked to each other and shareable by
their URLs. With this evolution, the content itself becomes the marketing
channel to expose what it refers to so that most referred content may be
read as frequently.
Fortunately, all necessary technology is out there - cloud servers, HTML5,
CSS3, dynamic URL, rich client-side programming environment and ever-
advancing web browsers to make content more like software than merely a
collection of black & white symbols.
The platform and its user service will be updated every 3 month. I hope you
enjoy every progress we make. Please visit http://buk.io and direct your
feedback to contact@bbdbu.com.
Thank you.
Editor's Notes
If we stop here, it is no more that traditional ebook platform. We have to do better.
Future books must go beyond paper books.
To show the capability of the buk publishing software platform, we developed a few reference applications for smartphones and tablets.
Here is an example. “Timeline U.S. History” table application to check out the possibilities.
