The Buddy Support System was introduced in 2003 to help teachers transitioning to teaching mathematics and science in English. It pairs these teachers with a "buddy" who acts as a critical friend and consultant to help navigate teaching materials and overcome challenges. The 4-day training course equips participants with listening and feedback skills to successfully fulfill the role of a critical friend within the Buddy Support System. Participants develop plans to implement monitoring procedures for the collaborative support structure in their schools.
