There are various types of rudrakshas, and these types are determined by the number of Mukhi or faces they have. For example, the Panch Mukhi rudraksha is named after its five faces. From 1 to 21, each of these rudraksha varieties has its purpose, uses, and benefits. Rudrakshas are extremely valuable, and the price varies depending on the rarity and type of face. Each Mukh has a unique effect on the wearer, and the effects differ from person to person.

One day is not enough!
If someone who had not been to Malbork for a long time came today to this picturesque town that was once a stronghold of the Teutonic knights, they would certainly be enchanted by the numerous new attractions and would find the view of the beautiful city centre, with its statue of King Kazimierz Jagiellończyk standing in the middle of the square, unforgettable. The colourful fountain, its waters playing this way and that to the rhythm of the music, the surrounding small architectural features and the numerous small cafes and restaurants combine to generate the fabulous atmosphere of Malbork, which was until recently noted only for its castle, which is the largest in Europe. It is worth stopping and taking a look even if only to confirm that ‘One day is not enough’ is more than just a marketing slogan.

What did the Dalai Lama say to the hot dog vendor? "Make me one with everything!" It's a familiar joke, muses Lama Surya Das, and one that holds a profound truth: that in addition to inner peace, meditation is a path for all-inclusive connection. In Make Me One with Everything, he invites us to experience this through the art of inter-meditation and other original practices that allow us to see through the illusion of separation.

It is said that NAMASMARAN can influence the social life, because the blossoming of an individual is irresistibly manifested in society; impossible to be ignored. There are many illustrious examples such as scholarly saints Dnyaneshvar, Tulsidas, Tukaram, Samarth Ramadas, Eknath, Namadev, Meera, Kabir, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu; including Acharya Vinoba Bhave, Mahatma Gandhi and Brahmachaitanya Shri Gondavalekar Maharaj.
This is a compilation of articles, which unravel the composite individual and social blossoming; implicit in the culmination of psychological, social, philosophical and scientific pursuits; embodied in NAMASMARAN.

Capstone Paper for each tradition:
Given that the goal of inter-religious dialogue is both mutual understanding and respect, please write a one page (single spaced) paper on the tradition that we have just completed studying. Select Buddhism(end of November) and write several paragraphs on your impression of it.
Begin with a paragraph on how you used to perceive it, and remark on how your newfound knowledge and insight has bred a deeper understanding of and respect for the tradition. Then in a second paragraph, try to summarize what you believe are the key aspects of the religion, and how its practitioners go about cultivating religious devotion and moral development. In the last paragraph, please discuss what you most respect about the tradition. In other words, if you had to integrate one or two of their beliefs or practices, which one would it be and why. Discuss how the tradition could actually add to your own religious identity.
Only put your name in the top left hand corner of the paper. I don’t need anything else, like Georgetown Prep, the date, etc.
Proof read your paper out loud. Silent proof reading often means that you’re simply reading what is in your head rather than what’s on the screen. You will, in part, be graded on your grammar.
Grammar, content, organization, creativity and clarity will be the main considerations I use to grade your paper.
More description of the grading scale is below.

TEN TIPS AND POINTERS FOR BEFRIENDING TIMESurya Das
1) Rest in the breath while letting go of all thoughts, concerns, plans, worries, and preoccupations.2) Be mindful of the physical sensations you feel right now.
Letting go off the past can be very tough, whether it’s someone's bad behavior, feelings, relationships or thoughts. Each day proffer a new chance to start over and go on from our past, however, Still we might know and understand it totally, successfully doing it is extremely tough in practice.
Recently I was invited to teach a weekend Dzogchen meditation retreat again at the Tibetan Mongolian Cultural Center in Bloomington, Indiana. While I was visiting we celebrated the spiritual director Arjia Rinpoche’s birthday.
Every morning I wake and take a moment to appreciate the lovely view from my bedroom window. And every day, as I take in the stillness and beauty of my little pond and surrounding woods, I wonder: Who made all of this? Wordless gratitude fills my heart and mind, body and soul each day as I begin my morning ritual, and I sense the sacred Presence transcendent over all of us yet immanent in each and every one of us, by whatever name or image-ing.
Lama Surya Das: This is a juicy subject, well worth pondering. Holding on too long is one problem, for sure; on the other hand, letting go too soon and too easily is another extreme (unbalance) or mistake.
The power of prayer - Lama Surya Das MarriedSurya Das
Only one popular Buddhist teacher has written a book about prayer, and that’s Thich Nhat Hanh. Many Western Buddhists and mindfulness practitioners today seem unaware of the numerous prayerful traditions and practices of Buddhism in the old world. I myself savor the mystic poems, songs, chants, prayers and sacred music practices of Vajrayana Buddhism. Perhaps because Mahayana-Vajrayana Buddhism is very inclusive and open to eclecticism, I too feel that way. I wanted to share with you a prayerful poem gifted to me this month, from some Catholic friends.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
