Buckypaper is a thin sheet made from an aggregate of carbon nanotubes that is approximately 50,000 times thinner than a human hair. A single carbon nanotube is 200 times stronger than steel yet only 1/6 the weight. Buckypaper has potential applications as vehicle armor, personal armor, and in next-generation electronics and displays due to its strength, heat dissipation, electromagnetic interference shielding, and electroconductivity. It can be 10 times lighter than steel yet 500 times stronger when stacked.
