The Brook Trout lives in clean cold lakes and streams, hiding in plants or holes dug with their tails. Young Brook Trout eat small insects while older ones feed on larger insects and small fish. They have red dots and stripes and can grow up to 16 inches. Brook Trout lay between 400-600 eggs in their lifetime and come in various colors, though their populations have decreased due to overfishing, leading the author to believe they should be considered threatened.
