When David became king of Israel, he wanted to bring the ark of God to Jerusalem. The first time he tried using a cart, it was disastrous because God had commanded it be carried by Levites. David learned from this and the next time had the Levites carry the ark as God instructed. David and the people worshipped God with all their might, though Michal despised David for his dancing and was later cursed by God for criticizing David's worship.
