This document discusses aeroponics as a tool for food security. Aeroponics is the practice of growing plants without soil, with roots in a misty environment. It has several benefits over traditional agriculture including more precise nutrient and environmental control, higher yields from less land, less water usage, and elimination of many plant diseases and pests. The document outlines the benefits and potential commercial applications of aeroponics in Nigeria, including opportunities to supply local and export markets with high-quality produce year-round. It also discusses factors like capital costs, skilled labor needs, and the lack of existing aeroponics industry organizations as potential weaknesses or barriers to adoption in Nigeria.
This document discusses precision agriculture and provides an overview of key concepts:
1. Precision agriculture aims to optimize field management to match crop needs, protect the environment, and boost farm economics through efficient practices.
2. It involves characterizing field variability, making decisions based on soil maps and sensor data, and implementing variable-rate technology.
3. Current trends include high-accuracy GPS, input management like variable-rate fertilizer application, and information management tools to aid decision-making.
4. The document describes technologies like guidance systems, drones, wireless sensors, and yield mapping that are part of precision agriculture approaches.
Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA): More than HydroponicsFreshBox Farms
CEA is an umbrella term for indoor plant cultivation methods that use technology to control the environment. It allows year-round production with less water and land than traditional agriculture. CEA can take place in buildings like skyscrapers or warehouses and enables agriculture in cities. Common CEA methods include hydroponics, which uses nutrient solutions in a soilless system, and vertical farming. The controlled environment optimizes factors like temperature, light, and nutrients to maximize plant growth.

- Complex products require strong project management and commitment from sales channels to avoid launch disasters. A local champion and understanding local needs is important.
- The product is never 100% ready for launch but communicating known issues and updating customers regularly can help. Having a plan to complete the product range and manage expectations is also key.
- Truly understanding the market and customers, committing to the product, and not relying too heavily on untargeted leads can lead to more successful launches compared to cases where these factors were missing.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

Algea Bio-Reactor Project Background
Bio-fuel and other bio-mass can be extracted from high lipid algea
and converted to kerosine/jet biofuels or bio-diesel. Due to
current algea growth technology limitations, algae can not be
grown at a fast and high volume rate.
Brilliance noticed the market opportunity and developed a few
advanced photo-bio reactor IPs and are able to grow algea in a
vertical reactor system and our technology is enable algea to grow
up to 50 times faster in a controlled environment compared to the
growth speed in uncontrolled natural environment.
We are seeking investment partner(s) for this APB technology to
commercialize the bio-fuel reactors, growth formulae, algea
bio-mass for food, and/or finish products (i.e. protein extracts
for cosmetics and pharmaceutical companies, kerosine /jet
biofuels and bio-diesel for airlines and other energy companies)

APB Algea Reactor Feasibility Test
Experimental operations were executed in 3x 20m³ basins
at a farmer location with a biomass reactor for cattle
feed. The reactor is a closed LED photosynthesis system.
The energy balance related to the economic output is
key factor for the feasibility of PhotoBioReactors
Economic value of output (feed, oil, specials)
Contribution from low valued residue heat
Value of carbon fixation
Operational cost of the reactor
Technological innovations (auto cleaning)
The growth results of this reactor is reference
for validation of next generation APB

APB Veritcal Algea Reactor
Square m² algae growth on ponds becomes cubic growth
with LEDs
(Yield to the power 2 becomes Yield to the power 3)
Bio oil obtained from algae is over 200 times the yield from
the best-performing plant/vegetable oils thus saving
precious food stocks
LED photons are 100% efficient for algae photosynthesis
Algae harvesting on basis of oil/water separation systems
avoids damage of algae
Current 100 m³ Vertical Algea Growth Test Systems
- Electric energy use 6 kWh
- 2 kg fixation CO2 per m³ algae/day
- Production of 50 kg algae/day
- Value of the produced biomass
depends on type of product.
