Breaking Food Jags
Leila Moinpour
Fall 2012
Get parents of picky 2-3 year old eaters to expose their
children to new healthy foods with at least 5-10
repetitions because studies show that the many
children tend to have a fear of new foods and this
exposure will encourage your child to eventually taste
               and like the foods given.
Priority Mapping
Target Behavior

Get parent to mix in weekly target food
      into child’s meal each day.
SEQENCING BEHAVIORS
Trials
• The first challenge was to get the parents informed
about the power of healthy eating habits for their
    child.
    • Sent out emails to parents of 2-3 year old kids
with video to mimic concept behind manual and
        classroom
    • http://www.ted.com/talks/jamie_oliver.html
Trials

For the parents who watched the video
 • How to select the target food for the week
became an obstacle, making the task too
difficult to accomplish, so a few parents stopped
after gaining information about what foods were
     healthy.
Next Time

Will test with a different approach to making the task
of choosing and buying the target food easier to
                            do
