Organizations today are in constant flux. Industries are consolidating, new business models are emerging, new technologies are being developed, and consumer behaviors are evolving. For executives, the ever-increasing pace of change can be especially demanding. It forces them to understand and quickly respond to big shifts in the way companies operate and how work must get done. In the words of Arie de Geus, a business theorist, “The ability to learn faster than your competitors may be the only sustainable competitive advantage.”

1. Brandon Miller Chapter 4
1.Why is it important to ask and answer questions?
It is very important to ask and answer questions because when you are doing this alone you are not only
helping yourself focus your thinking. But you just might be helping others around you who may be
confused.
2. What are the different ways to question effectively? Give an example of each!
Well what you want to do is Know why you question and define your purpose, Want to question and
you must be motivated by seeking information that is related to a goal achievement. And finally you
want to question in different ways such as Analytically, creatively, and practically.
3. What are the three types of thinking skills and how can you enrich these skills?
The three types of thinking skills are known as Critical, Creative, And of course practical thinking and
these can be enriched by defining all sorts of problems and examining details and taking risks, and
brainstorm, and these are just to name a few.
4. Give examples of each.
Critical thinking is the process of thinking that questions assumptions. It is a way of deciding whether a
claim is true, false; sometimes true, or partly true.
Creative thinking emphasizes the skills of analysis--teaching students how to understand claims, follow
or create a logical argument, figure out the answer, eliminate the incorrect paths and focus on the
correct one.
Practical thinking means thinking with a view to action. That is, only focusing on thoughts that work and
can be applied in the real world.
