Muay Thai In Thailand
Muay Thai in Thailand The connections of the mind, body and soul have and always will have the
utmost importance in sports. Time over time, it is proven that champions use all three in a
combination to defeat their enemy. All champions around the world have some of the same
characteristics in common; discipline, respect and self–control. These three characteristics are the
very core of martial arts. Through the training and teachings of martial arts, individuals are able to
key into their mind, body and soul to honor and protect themselves from opponents, either, on the
field of war and/or play. Different types of martial arts focus on the use of body parts with or
without any additional weapons. Muay Thai is an example of a martial art that uses just the body as
a weapon. It trains the mind to depend on just the body by connecting with the soul through rituals
that have been followed since the creation of Muay Thai. The goals of this paper are to discuss the
historical development of Muay Thai and the guidelines of this martial art sport. Another goal of this
paper is to discuss the effects Muay Thai has on the people and the environment and how its culture,
history, and geography has popularized this sport throughout the past, few years. This has
transformed Muay Thai into a new form of popular sport known to world as kickboxing, which has

Core Values Of My Life
Friedman reading lists many core values, but the ones that are most important to me and have
influenced me the most include: Physical Fitness, Creativity, Enjoyment, and Family. Physical
fitness means, staying in shape through physical activity and healthy nutrition. This has always been
a big part of my life. In my childhood I incorporated physical activity through different activities my
mother would sign me up for such as, swimming, roller staking, and dancing. As I got older my
main physical activity was dance, I grew to love it and it helped me stay in shape. Along, with this
though I always tried to eat a healthy diet because my family has a history of high blood pressure.
Being physically fit influenced me to make healthy choices and break away from my family's
history of health problems. It also, lead me to healthier eating choices now and more physical
activity through other sports such as kickboxing which also builds disciple leading to a more
organized lifestyle and doing better in school because of it.
Furthermore, physical fitness led to creativity, which is another major influence in my life.
Creativity according to Friedman is discovering, developing, or designing new ideas or things;
demonstrating imagination. As I mentioned previously, physical fitness has been a big part of my
life, most of all this consisted dance. My mother's love for dance was passed on to me and through
this I learned creativity. I have been dancing for almost fourteen years and I have picked up many
different techniques. Being a dancer involves a lot of creativity because you need to be able to learn
new styles and create your own dances using these styles. My creativity in dance followed through
to the classrooms I've sat in. It has allowed me to think outside of the box and get creative with class
projects and with work. Often times my friends come to me when they want new idea's or a
different view on projects they are working on and it feels great that I am able to help them. Another
value that has greatly impacted my life is enjoyment. Enjoyment is fun, joy, and laughter. Without
this my life would dull and unfulfilled. My friends bring me enjoyment every day. It keeps me
happy and wanting to learn and do new

Keep Your Hands Up
Although most people focus on the legs in kickboxing, the arms are just as important. It is necessary
to keep your arms up around your head, and to not drop your hand down under your chin. When you
perform punches, you should punch level with your body and straight out in front of you. Always
return your hands immediately to their original spot in order to protect your face and head. It is also
important to keep your arms in place as core balance when kicking.
5. Watch Your Breathing
Breathing is important in any workout routine, but especially so in just ladies fitness kickboxing.
Since this is such an intensive workout, breathing correctly will help you perform better and last
longer as well. You should always breathe in deeply through your nose, and out forcefully through
your mouth. This centers your body, and gives you the air you need to do your best.
Just ladies fitness kickboxing can be an intense and highly effective way to lose weight. Not only
that, but it has a wide variety of other useful benefits as well. If you follow the five tips above, you

Aikido. I believe that kick boxing can overtake the fighting technique of Aikido.I am going to
explain the differences between the two and why Aikido can not overtake kick boxing. I am against
Aikdo because it looks staged on the videos and looks really fake. In a real fight there would not be
any time to do all the fancy kicks and flips unless you are Bruce Lee, wich you are not. If you were

What Is My Greatest Accomplishments
What defines an accomplishment? Is it the worth of it in monetary, emotional, or personal
standards? Personally a great accomplishment of mine was self–improvement in both body and
mind. I had a problem with my weight and mental stability. I am diagnosed with Generalized
Anxiety and I do not take any medication for it. Therefore I have learned over the years on how to
control my anxiety and calm myself down. My weight gain began when I was in 4th grade, I started
the habit of bingeing and it resulted in a troubled metabolic system. My greatest accomplishment
has been my new lifestyle that has mitigated my physical and mental problems through health
routines, training, and reading. Summer of 2014, I decided to change my eating habits. I set a
routine, chose healthier foods, drank more water, and picked up on yoga and Pilates. Green tea
became a life saver. The previous years of bingeing caused great damage to my metabolism and
green tea with its properties of antioxidants boosts and regulates my metabolism. Green and Oolong
tea has become a healthy, but immense addiction of mine. I still continue to eat three ... Show more

The books: Harry Potter, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Trilogy and To Kill a Mockingbird has

attitude and has made a huge difference in my temper. I have become amicable and positive because
of music and books. These activities have reduced my stress and have allowed me to build
relationships since it ameliorates my distrust in others and gives me more confidence. I relate to the
poetic lyrics or phrases and it has aided me in finding solutions for difficult situations. I interpret
these new traits as an immense achievement of mine and I am proud of how far I have come in

Double Impact Essay
An Analysis of the Movie, Double Impact
The movie opens twenty–five years ago in Hong Kong. The parents of two twin babies, Alex and
Chad, had borrowed money from Raymond Zhang and
Nigel Griffith, two lead smugglers. They needed the money in order to build a tunnel between Hong
Kong and the mainland. After the tunnel was built and the money collected, Nigel Griffith and
Raymond Zhang had a gang of hit men massacre Alex and Chad's family. Frank Avery, a friend of
the family, races into the scene and finds the parents already dead. The two babies are in the back
seat with a maid. She takes Alex and flees the scene. Frank sees Chad left behind and takes him and
runs.
Twenty–five years after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alex arrives and head butts Chad. When Chad revives from being knocked unconscious, Frank
convinces the two brothers to help avenge the deaths of their parents.
The setting for this movie is very appropriate. They are in Hong Kong where the laws are not up to
par with the American Style. This allows the corrupt trades of Zhang, Griffith, and Alex to go on
hardly disturbed by the Hong Kong police.
The dominant theme in Double Impact is vengeance and it is seen quite readily once the action gets
rolling. Alex and Chad are out to kill Zhang and Griffith for the massacre of their parents. As the
movie rolls on, Alex becomes suspicious of Chad because he thinks that he is playing around with
his girlfriend Danielle. We see Alex's thoughts of Chad with Danielle as he becomes drunker and his
mind imagines that they are having sex together.
These thoughts enrage Alex and he fights his own brother.
The whole movie was directed and acted very well considering Chad and
Alex are both played by the same person, Jean–Claude Van Damme, which justifies the movie's
name, Double Impact. The main character Jean–Claude
Van Damme plays more roles than just casting. He is also the fight choreographer and one of the
producers. His talent of kickboxing has come through in his first great achievement where he played
as Frank Dux in

Swinging For The Fences: A Case Study
"Swinging for the Fences"* While promoters and sanctioning bodies both stress safety as the
number one focus, this is not always the practice. There have been an astonishing number of cases
that include, but are not limited to falsifying documentation, accepting expired blood test, and hiring
"medical specialist" who turn out to be veterinarians. Currently promoters do not have to use
sanctioning bodies when hosting an ameteur event. However the sanctioning bodies that are most
frequently used are the World Kickboxing Association, the International Sport Karate Association
and the United States Muay Thai Association. .The purpose of these organizations include providing
training referees, judges, and officials; making sure there are rules and regulations to be adhered to;

This question touches on multiple issues. For example what revenue streams can be attached to legal
events? Will the cost of hosting a live MMA events legally have such a high barrior that will
conversly allow the underground ametur bussiness model to still be viable? To find the answers to
these questions I went straight to the source, the promoters. For the amateur promoter perspective I
was able to interview Tom Kilkenny, co–owner and promoter of the Aggressive Combat
Championship. This is one of the top Amateur MMA shows in NYC. Kilkenny was quoted as saying
he believes legalizing MMA in NYC "will hurt the promoters profit margin, because the state wants
to tax MMA shows so highly." From the professional promoter perspective I contacted Kevin
Patrick, CEO & Managing Partner The Northeast's premiere Fight promotion called Victory. This
promotion company has produced over 225 boxing, kickboxing and MMA events in six states
(including Vermont, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington State),
including events at Madison Square Garden Theater. Patrick views this issue as a complex topic. He

Holly Holm And Ronda Rousey's Battle Analysis
On Saturday, November 14th, 2015 Holly Holm and Ronda Rousey climbed in to the Ultimate
Fighting Championship (UFC) cage and began what would come to be known as one of the greatest
"underdog" matches in the twenty–first century. Everyone knew from the second this fight was
scheduled that it would be legendary because going into the fight both amazing women were
undefeated. That being said, Ronda Rousey had twelve straight wins, compared to Holly Holm's
lowly nine, in mixed martial arts that is. With both women being undefeated, and no chance for a
tie, it set the stage for a fight to be remembered.

very quickly, just like David. As Malcom Gladwell explained to us in his article, it was not luck that
let David win, it was statistics (How David Beats Goliath). Ronda was more experienced in UFC
and had a longer history in mixed martial arts but it was no comparison to the versatile skills that
Holly had. This is very similar to Goliath, because Goliath and Ronda might have been extremely
favored but it will never change the fact that David and Holly had better skills. David with his
distance weapon and Holly with her boxing and kickboxing career. Holly had the odds stacked

Personal Narrative: Middle School
Middle school years were my least favorite years of school. The kids that I thought were my friends
had become my biggest enemies. I will admit that in middle school I wasn't the skinniest girl at the
school. I had gained weight over the summer and was too oblivious to see it. Now that I am in high
school I really wish that I wouldn't have let those kids bother me so much. "Have you gained
weight?" ,asked a little brunette girl. This was the first comment that I had got in the sixth grade and
being young I didn't think too much about it. By the seventh grade I really got to thinking about
everything everyone was saying to me. I didn't want to say anything to my parents about people
picking on me, so I went to my friend Macy. I thought that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Fight Or Flight Response
"Being fearless doesn 't mean being hundred percent without fear, it 's being terrified but still
deciding to jump anyway". Fear triggers the "fight or flight" response which is a survival
mechanism that occurs in the brain that instinctively tells humans and animals to either escape or
engage in life threatening or stressful situations. Through the "fight or flight" response, you choose
to either prevail or back down from threatening yet "scary" situations such as speaking in front of a

As time passed, before you know it fight night was just a few days out and I felt ready yet

Biomedical Engineering Personal Statement
Homo sapiens are known to be the most advanced creatures on Earth, the number of humans in the
world is exponentially increasing to nearly over seven billion as 250 babies are born every minute
and with the population increasing by almost 3 people per second. Life relies solely upon the
biomedical sciences. It's an area of expertise that is constantly advancing out, therefore to study the
convolution of the human body and to contribute to such a field has lead me to apply to Biomedical
Sciences at University.
My interest in Biomedical Science came in a school–run extended project scheme in which I
devised a study of genetic modification of the human body. I found that I was fascinated by whether
the survival of an organism was based on one's genome or one's environment. For example, I did
research on Michael Phelps, an eight time olympic gold medalist, who has said to have genetic
advantages over other olympic athletes. For instance, he is double–jointed in the chest which
enables him to extend his arms higher above his head and pull down at an angle that increases his
efficiency through the water by 20% allowing him to make quicker starts and turns. The research
gave me an insight of how complex and sublime the inner structures and workings of the human
body are, therefore has fuelled my desire to study the physiology of human bodies beyond A Level.

Love is a rigorous journey, with no real rules on how to endure it. After reading many "experts'"
thoughts on love, I have come to realize that it generally falls into three categories: how to find a
casual relationship, how to take that relationship to a deeper level, and how to deal with a breakup.
With the help of various sources of modern and ancient times, I have constructed my own guide on
conquering love.
The first, and most important, step to finding someone you're interested in is to "always be mentally
ready to pick up." Experts believe this is an important step because you will run into attractive
people everywhere. It will happen while at the theatre, races, circus, beach, or even out walking.
Social media websites such as Tinder or Hinge, or social events such as, alumni meet–ups,
restaurants, bars, parties, grocery stores, out on biking trails, and kickboxing class are also ways to
meet new people.
The kickboxing reference brings us to my next step: "take care with how you look." Your hair
should be professionally cut, your nails clean and proper, your nostrils hair–free, and your breath
shouldn't smell. Yes, you're trying to look your best, but don't try and "conceal your defects."
Despite what others may say, it's unrealistic. Included in your first impression appearance is your
body language; it makes you seem approachable. People are typically attracted to confidence, so
giving your prey "the look," or flashing a bright smile can really boost your level

Third Force Training Research Paper
The fitness industry is very versatile. There are trainers who focus on many different aspects of
fitness. This includes cardio, resistance training, fat loss, yoga, pilates, trx equipment training,
kickboxing and martial arts...the list goes on and on. With a such a wide variety of diverse principles
and disciplines that can offered to a large spectrum of people, every trainer should ask him or her
self, "How can I go that extra mile?" "What can I do to motivate at one person to get up and
delibrately work up a sweat?" The answer is simple; It's up to people like me, to exhibit a level of
discipline, patience, and knowledge, that will enable us to not only educate the masses, but to also
help others understand that everyone will have to embrace a different path to acheive their fitness
goal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I know that I can challenge other trainers to step their game up, because ultimately, all that matters
is how that trainee feels. Is that person recieving enough positive energy to stay motivated? Is that
person being pushed enough to break past plateu's and are they seeing feeling progress? Half of that
is done in the gym, yes. The other half is up to the trainer to challenge that client to change their
mentality. I try my hardest to help others realize that everyday should be used to better themselves.
Time is limited on this earth, so its vital that we utilize every waking moment to get one step closer
to accomplishing a goal, whether that's shaving a couple minutes off your mile time, or cutting out
soda's so that you drink more water throughout the day, or saving money for that dream. It all can be
achieved through patience and discipline. That's what I'm teaching the people that I work

Why Do We Play Basketball?
Everybody knows basketball players like Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'neal, Lebron James,

The first game of basketball as we know it was played january 20th, 1892 the game was created
by Dr. James Naismith. Most of the original rules were either disregarded or modified. Which it
was played very differently than our modern version of basketball. I started playing basketball
right around the time of when my mom and dad split so when i was about five. He had never

Research Paper On Kickboxing
Most people are discouraged from hitting others; I, however, was taught how to throw a punch
properly. I started kickboxing when I was 15 years old, and I fell in love with it immediately. I
relished the feeling of pushing my body past its limits and feeling my muscles complain the next
day as validation of my hard work. As a kid I had never played team sports like most of my friends
did; while they had soccer practices I stayed home and read books, because my mom taught me to
cherish my education over all things. Kickboxing had finally given me an activity to call my own;
not to mention it was a much more effective stress outlet than looking to Netflix for distraction.
After I turned 16, I filled out lots of applications to make some extra

Latin Aerobics
This semester, I was excited to participate in Latin Aerobics. Previously, I lost seventy pounds the
previous semester thanks to hard work, and fitness classes. My primary goal was to enjoy my goal
weight, and get in shape for life while having fun; what better way to do it than a dance class? I now
want to maintain a healthy weight that I earned at my years at American River College. When I first
lost the weight, I panicked because I thought it meant permanently restricting my life to weight
control portion containers, and a plate stacked with 90% vegetables. Although, I eat healthy, I no
longer deprive myself of fun foods because I adopted a healthier mindset. Previously before my

with my gains. My results have been shocking after I changed my perspective, for example, I ran on
my treadmill for twenty five minutes straight. My pace was snail like; however, I would have never
dreamed of completing a slow twenty five minute jog previously. Although, there are people who
can dance better, run faster, and lift more than me, I am prideful in my personal achievements. I

that my family gained weight quite easily, and my family has a very alarming health history.
Although, there are not any drug addictions, diabetes runs in the family. I resorted to Xylitol and

scheduled for a rematch with Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, but an undisclosed injury forced the former

Want to burn calories fast? Try kickboxing. Kickboxing is arguably one of the most high–impact
and fun sports to participate in. It's a total body workout that is highly effective in burning calories
and blasting fat. Kickboxing combines other sports such as martial arts, boxing, and aerobics, which
require little or no equipment. Besides being highly engaging and exciting, it comes with the
following fitness benefits. 1. Burns Calories Kickboxing is a high calorie–burning activity. You can
burn between 275 and 450 calories in a half–hour of a kickboxing workout. A one–hour kickboxing

It involves most parts of your body. To work out your upper body, kickboxing engages hooks,
uppercuts, jabs and crosses that leave your arms, chest and shoulders totally worked out and tired in
just a few minutes. For the lower body, a kickboxing session applies front kicks, round–house kicks,
and side kicks to tone your thighs and butt within a short time. 4. Improves Coordination At the
beginning, coordinating your body to move at the right pace and to throw those jabs and kicks at the
right intervals and impact can be difficult. However, a kickboxing instructor will guide in adopting
the perfect pace and help you focus on proper technique and movements. As each workout builds on
a previous one, the sessions gradually become more intense as you graduate to advanced
combinations. The impact of this is that you will have better balance, flexibility, coordination and
sharpened reflexes. 5. Relieves Stress Are you looking for an effective stress reliever? Besides the
physical benefits of kickboxing, the sport has great mental benefits. It not only relieves your stress,
but it also improves your confidence. Next time you have a challenging project that's stressing you,
consider throwing a few round–house kicks as you picture your project unravelling before your

History of Kickboxing Martial Arts
Fighting Is Art Since the dawn of time, man has had to fight for one reason or another. There has
been war using weapons, sword fights between individuals, and then there are modern day wars
battled out in the cage. Kickboxing has had many uses in the past, but it is one of the most popular
sports in today's culture. It is a very useful skill to learn. There is no mistake that martial arts are
dangerous, but if properly taught, a perfectly disciplined warrior will be a result. Warrior may not
have the same meaning as it used to, but fighters are as close to a warrior as possible in modern
time. Trained fighters are always toughened mentally and physically to a near superhuman extent.

King Prachao Sua would disguise himself as a commoner and fight in village events. He was forced
to disguise himself because everyone in Thailand respected their king so much, that no person
would participate in fighting him. Another type of kickboxing with an opulent history is
Taekwondo; this form is a fighting style almost strictly dependent on using the legs to strike your
opponent in spinning and jumping motions. This style evolved from other martial arts styles that
dated back to 50 B.C; evidence of this was found on cave walls in the form of paintings ("General
Taekwondo Information – History''). Taekwondo basically evolved from a military fighting method
and popular sport called Soo Bakh Do. Soo Bakh Do was used by athletes and militants in combat
and training during the Koryo Dynasty. Back then, the sport of kick boxing was for the lower class
or poor men ("General Taekwondo Information – History."). Taekwondo practiced today is an
evolution of many oriental martial arts, and fighting styles that were used long ago, but with a more
modern "spin" to it. Most taekwondo instructors incorporate their own techniques in their teachings,
which is not uncommon in fight training. Coaches have been revolutionizing martial arts fighting
styles ever since the world's first intelligent skirmish. Taekwondo got its name from the old Korean
martial arts style, Tae Kyon because its focus was on using the legs as a weapon to pummel the
enemies into

Instrumental Aggression Research Paper
ESP Topic : Kid Sisters and Serial Killers !
Aggression comes in two main forms; hostile aggression and instrumental aggression. Hostile
aggression is "aggression stemming from feelings of anger and aimed at inflicting pain or injury"
(Aronson, Wilson, & Arkert, 2013, p. 453). So simply put, hostile aggression is being violent and
hurting someone because we are angry. According to our textbook, instrumental aggression is
defined as "aggression as a means to some goal other than causing pain" (Aronson, Wilson, &
Arkert, 2013, p. 454). Instrumental Aggression is basically harming someone in service of some
other goal and not to just hurt them. When thinking of hostile aggression, think of serial killers;
people who commits a series of murders usually with no apparent motive. When it comes to

Legalizing Same-Sex Marriages
The topic of legalizing same sex marriages brings up heated debates on legal, religious, moral, and
philosophical grounds. In researching material for this paper this writer could not help but read
reports that indicate that the country is fairly well divided on this issue. The debate can go round and
around and the answer to the question of legalizing same sex marriages is not as easy as it may
seem. There are solid rebuttals to any supposition one makes on the issue, making the debate a lot
more interesting than one might believe.
In general there are several philosophical arguments against same sex marriage: The first claims that
marriage is an innately reproductive union of two people and that same sex marriages innately lack
the potential for any type of reproduction, therefore it is metaphysically and biologically impossible
for homosexuals to become "married" to one another. Thus, same sex marriages should not occur.
Critics of this line of reasoning would state that there is no one who would support the notion of not
allowing infertile heterosexual couples or fertile heterosexual couples who do not plan to have
children the right to marry one another. Thus, this argument is not valid as an explanation of why
same sex marriages should not be allowed. However, the rebuttal to this counter argument would be
that the sexual intercourse that takes place between either infertile heterosexual couples or
heterosexual couples not desiring children is reproductive in kind.

Observation Of A Soccer Field In Elementary School
Observation #1 For my first observation I observed my four year old nephew's soccer practice at an
elementary school which lasted about a half an hour. They met on the empty field at the elementary
school, there were about 3 other teams practicing at the same time but everyone was spread out. The
coaches set up cones and pop up goals for the children. There were about 12–15 children there, I
think they said a few kids weren't there. There were about four coaches or helpers working with the
children. The first thing they did with the kids was a few warm up activities, the first being some
sort of running activity where the children ran around following the coaches, next, they hopped in
place being silly. Then the kids each got a ball and began a kicking exercise were the had to go
around and try to kick the ball at the cones and knock them down. Then the kids got in a line with
their ball and followed the leader around while dribbling the ball with both feet. In the next activity,
the children got to practice kicking a stationary ball into the goal. After that, they played a 7 min
practice game. At this point, many of the children were in the pre control level of proficiency
because for most it is their first time playing soccer and I could definitely tell. There might have
been a few activities where some children where at control level but it was very minimal. For
example, during the kicking exercise, it was very hard for the kids to control where their ball was
going.

  • 3. Core Values Of My Life Friedman reading lists many core values, but the ones that are most important to me and have influenced me the most include: Physical Fitness, Creativity, Enjoyment, and Family. Physical fitness means, staying in shape through physical activity and healthy nutrition. This has always been a big part of my life. In my childhood I incorporated physical activity through different activities my mother would sign me up for such as, swimming, roller staking, and dancing. As I got older my main physical activity was dance, I grew to love it and it helped me stay in shape. Along, with this though I always tried to eat a healthy diet because my family has a history of high blood pressure. Being physically fit influenced me to make healthy choices and break away from my family's history of health problems. It also, lead me to healthier eating choices now and more physical activity through other sports such as kickboxing which also builds disciple leading to a more organized lifestyle and doing better in school because of it. Furthermore, physical fitness led to creativity, which is another major influence in my life. Creativity according to Friedman is discovering, developing, or designing new ideas or things; demonstrating imagination. As I mentioned previously, physical fitness has been a big part of my life, most of all this consisted dance. My mother's love for dance was passed on to me and through this I learned creativity. I have been dancing for almost fourteen years and I have picked up many different techniques. Being a dancer involves a lot of creativity because you need to be able to learn new styles and create your own dances using these styles. My creativity in dance followed through to the classrooms I've sat in. It has allowed me to think outside of the box and get creative with class projects and with work. Often times my friends come to me when they want new idea's or a different view on projects they are working on and it feels great that I am able to help them. Another value that has greatly impacted my life is enjoyment. Enjoyment is fun, joy, and laughter. Without this my life would dull and unfulfilled. My friends bring me enjoyment every day. It keeps me happy and wanting to learn and do new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I believe that kick boxing can overtake the fighting technique of Aikido.I am going to explain the differences between the two and why Aikido can not overtake kick boxing. I am against Aikdo because it looks staged on the videos and looks really fake. Personally a great accomplishment of mine was self–improvement in both body and mind. I had a problem with my weight and mental stability. I am diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety and I do not take any medication for it. Therefore I have learned over the years on how to control my anxiety and calm myself down. My weight gain began when I was in 4th grade, I started the habit of bingeing and it resulted in a troubled metabolic system. My greatest accomplishment has been my new lifestyle that has mitigated my physical and mental problems through health routines, training, and reading. Summer of 2014, I decided to change my eating habits. I set a routine, chose healthier foods, drank more water, and picked up on yoga and Pilates. Green tea became a life saver. After the tunnel was built and the money collected, Nigel Griffith and Raymond Zhang had a gang of hit men massacre Alex and Chad's family. When Chad revives from being knocked unconscious, Frank convinces the two brothers to help avenge the deaths of their parents. The setting for this movie is very appropriate. They are in Hong Kong where the laws are not up to par with the American Style. This allows the corrupt trades of Zhang, Griffith, and Alex to go on hardly disturbed by the Hong Kong police. The dominant theme in Double Impact is vengeance and it is seen quite readily once the action gets rolling. Alex and Chad are out to kill Zhang and Griffith for the massacre of their parents. As the movie rolls on, Alex becomes suspicious of Chad because he thinks that he is playing around with his girlfriend Danielle. We see Alex's thoughts of Chad with Danielle as he becomes drunker and his mind imagines that they are having sex together. These thoughts enrage Alex and he fights his own brother. The whole movie was directed and acted very well considering Chad and Alex are both played by the same person, Jean–Claude Van Damme, which justifies the movie's name, Double Impact. There have been an astonishing number of cases that include, but are not limited to falsifying documentation, accepting expired blood test, and hiring "medical specialist" who turn out to be veterinarians. Currently promoters do not have to use sanctioning bodies when hosting an ameteur event. Will the cost of hosting a live MMA events legally have such a high barrior that will conversly allow the underground ametur bussiness model to still be viable? For the amateur promoter perspective I was able to interview Tom Kilkenny, co–owner and promoter of the Aggressive Combat Championship. This is one of the top Amateur MMA shows in NYC. Kilkenny was quoted as saying he believes legalizing MMA in NYC "will hurt the promoters profit margin, because the state wants to tax MMA shows so highly." Biomedical Engineering Personal Statement Homo sapiens are known to be the most advanced creatures on Earth, the number of humans in the world is exponentially increasing to nearly over seven billion as 250 babies are born every minute and with the population increasing by almost 3 people per second. Life relies solely upon the biomedical sciences. It's an area of expertise that is constantly advancing out, therefore to study the convolution of the human body and to contribute to such a field has lead me to apply to Biomedical Sciences at University. My interest in Biomedical Science came in a school–run extended project scheme in which I devised a study of genetic modification of the human body. I found that I was fascinated by whether the survival of an organism was based on one's genome or one's environment. For example, I did research on Michael Phelps, an eight time olympic gold medalist, who has said to have genetic advantages over other olympic athletes. For instance, he is double–jointed in the chest which enables him to extend his arms higher above his head and pull down at an angle that increases his efficiency through the water by 20% allowing him to make quicker starts and turns. • 22. My Own Guide On Conquering Love Love is a rigorous journey, with no real rules on how to endure it. After reading many "experts'" thoughts on love, I have come to realize that it generally falls into three categories: how to find a casual relationship, how to take that relationship to a deeper level, and how to deal with a breakup. With the help of various sources of modern and ancient times, I have constructed my own guide on conquering love. The first, and most important, step to finding someone you're interested in is to "always be mentally ready to pick up." Experts believe this is an important step because you will run into attractive people everywhere. It will happen while at the theatre, races, circus, beach, or even out walking. Social media websites such as Tinder or Hinge, or social events such as, alumni meet–ups, restaurants, bars, parties, grocery stores, out on biking trails, and kickboxing class are also ways to meet new people. The kickboxing reference brings us to my next step: "take care with how you look." Your hair should be professionally cut, your nails clean and proper, your nostrils hair–free, and your breath shouldn't smell. Yes, you're trying to look your best, but don't try and "conceal your defects." Despite what others may say, it's unrealistic. In researching material for this paper this writer could not help but read reports that indicate that the country is fairly well divided on this issue. The debate can go round and around and the answer to the question of legalizing same sex marriages is not as easy as it may seem. There are solid rebuttals to any supposition one makes on the issue, making the debate a lot more interesting than one might believe. In general there are several philosophical arguments against same sex marriage: The first claims that marriage is an innately reproductive union of two people and that same sex marriages innately lack the potential for any type of reproduction, therefore it is metaphysically and biologically impossible for homosexuals to become "married" to one another. Thus, same sex marriages should not occur. Critics of this line of reasoning would state that there is no one who would support the notion of not allowing infertile heterosexual couples or fertile heterosexual couples who do not plan to have children the right to marry one another. Thus, this argument is not valid as an explanation of why same sex marriages should not be allowed. However, the rebuttal to this counter argument would be that the sexual intercourse that takes place between either infertile heterosexual couples or heterosexual couples not desiring children is reproductive in kind. ... They met on the empty field at the elementary school, there were about 3 other teams practicing at the same time but everyone was spread out. The coaches set up cones and pop up goals for the children. There were about 12–15 children there, I think they said a few kids weren't there. There were about four coaches or helpers working with the children. The first thing they did with the kids was a few warm up activities, the first being some sort of running activity where the children ran around following the coaches, next, they hopped in place being silly. Then the kids each got a ball and began a kicking exercise were the had to go around and try to kick the ball at the cones and knock them down.
