This document summarizes and compares the results of 5 surveys on e-democracy and e-participation conducted between 2010-2013 in Switzerland, the US, Central and Eastern Europe, the EU, and Russia. The surveys examined public and expert opinions on important sectors, problems, and challenges regarding e-democracy. The document found that while views were similar in Western countries and different than in Russia/CEE, there were also differences between citizen and expert opinions. E-petitioning was seen as an important sector across all surveys, but e-collaboration was not in Russia/CEE. Future work could compare results in Europe, US, Russia and Asia to further understand attitudes towards e-democracy across borders
