Boardmasters is a 4-day annual music and surfing festival held in August in Newquay, UK. It began in 1981 and attracts around 45,000 people per day. The main stages feature rock and pop music acts while surfing competitions take place at the nearby Fistral Beach. Boardmasters is one of the most recognised
surfing and music combi events in the UK. The
festival schedule attracts a mixture of genres
and ages.
When it began (1981) it was known as one of the
biggest events of its kind in Europe. Its
reputation has managed to success, and in 2011
it celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The Boardmasters festival is located in the
Watergate Bay beach, Newquay, U.K. And it
also takes place in Fistral Beach.

Plan B, Leftfield, Newton Faulkner and Ricta,

after it was announced that the surfing competition was
no longer linked to the Association of Surfing
Professionals.
