During the summer of 2017, the school district offered a variety of programming including a 4-week Summer Academy with enrichment and remedial courses, weekly Friday field trips, and August summer camps focused on art, STEM, and superheroes. Over 350 students attended the Summer Academy and almost 900 students attended remedial courses at the high school level. The various summer camps and field trips were popular, filling to capacity with over 200 students each. Students also had the opportunity to recover credits in various core classes, with 27 students recovering science credits. The district provided free transportation, meals, and enrichment activities to nearly 1000 students daily through the programming.
