All the most popular Ontario high school courses
are available through Blyth Academy Online,
including Grade 12 Advanced Functions and
English. Because they are available at any time,
you can fit your learning to your life, and not the
other way round.
In Photography, students learn and develop skills and techniques such as lighting, focus and framing, as well as the use of editing and manipulation software. They
also have fun experiencing a photo shoot and using long exposures to create images like this “light graffiti”.
4. Every student in school today will be involved in online learning at some point in his or her
life, whether it is in high school, university, or in professional development in a career. At
Blyth Academy Online, we help you develop the skills and strategies needed to be an effective
online learner.
Whether you are taking a course that can’t be scheduled when you need it, or you want to
retake a course to improve your mark, online learning gives you the freedom to learn what
you want.
Whether you can’t get to a physical school for health reasons, or are in a remote community
and don’t want to leave it to get a high school diploma, online learning gives you the freedom
to learn where you want.
Whether you are coming back to school or reaching ahead, online learning gives you the
freedom to learn when you want.

WHATWILLIBEDOING?
Blyth Academy Online courses will have you doing a lot
more than just sitting in front of your computer. Your
course will take you out into your community. It will
connect the material to your environment, and to you.
We know that students learn in different ways, so we let
you do so. We know you aren’t stuck in a classroom, so we
take advantage of that. And we know you have the whole
world at your fingertips, so we take advantage of that, too.
HOWWILLIKNOWHOWI’MDOING?
Learning goals and objectives are clearly communicated at
the beginning of your learning. You will be given multiple
chances to practice skills and to receive feedback from
your teacher before you do the pieces of work that are
counted towards your final grade. Rubrics give you a clear
picture of what is expected, and what you need to do to
achieve the grade you want.
In Science, students perform experiments using easily assessable
household items, as well as carrying out virtual labs online.
5. DOIHAVETOSITANEXAMINATION?
When you are ready, you can organize your own final exam.
You can either take it at a Blyth campus, or have your own
proctor approved.
HOWDOIGETMYTEXTBOOK?
Most of our content is online. Some courses supplement
this with a textbook. This is included in the price of
your course, and is delivered to you electronically as an
eBook. However, novels, plays, or poetry books required
for English courses are not included in the price of your
course.
WhyChoose
BlythAcademyOnline?
WHOWILLTEACHMYCOURSE?
Our courses are developed and taught by Blyth Academy
teachers who are trained in the effective delivery of an
exemplary online learning experience. Teachers use
email, live chat and weekly office hours to keep in touch.
If you need it, we can also offer you support at one of our
campuses.
WILL I RECEIVE AN ONTARIO HIGH SCHOOL
CREDIT?
Blyth Academy Online is Ministry-inspected and adheres
to all provincial standards. We issue Ontario secondary
school credits, report cards and official transcripts. Blyth
