Blog 10:For this week, I'd like to give you folks the opportunity to do some prewriting for the
introductions to your final portfolio (which I will be talking about more in a video to follow). So,
in brief, explain how the essays and the forum postings represent (or don't represent) your
developing interests academically at Endicott and your work in the course? For example, are
some of the things you've learned applicable to other classes or things within your major (or
possible majors)? Also, what is one thing you found most beneficialabout the class and what is
one thing that was not beneficial? Briefly explain. Lastly, what do you feel is the best writing
you've done for the course so far and why do you feel it's your best writing?

(My Response) I think my essays and blog forums represent who I am as a writer and my academic
interest at Endicott College. For the most part, the blog forums are reflections of my assets and where I am
at academically. As far as the essays, the first essay is a descriptive life experience of mine. The second
and third essays definitely represent things that I feel passionately about. These projects are stepping
stones in achieving my Bachelor's Degree in Business because each one of the essays required differently
writing and proper information. Although some were challenging, they ultimately will help me develop as a
writer.
The thing I found most beneficial about the class was posting answers to the blog forums. Most of
the questions required reflections and your own personal experiences. I thought it was helpful to read
others' responses and as well as they did mine. I also thought your comments on each one of my drafts
was very helpful, because in some other classes, a peer edit or self-edit is required. The fact that the
professor was providing some incite was helpful because it really provided me with more knowledge of what
was being asked.
The only thing I feel was not beneficial was not being able to revise my blog forum posts. I did
proofread before sending, however after going back a day or two later I realized some things that could
have been added.
I feel that my first essay (narrative) was my best essay. It was easy for me to write because of its
informal tone and the fact that it was a narrative. I find that I do my best works when my opinion or
thoughts can be included.

Blog 11:Very simple for this week: Describe how you plan to organize your final portfolio for
this class (for example, are you placing all of your drafts on a single page? Do you have
individual pages for each blog posting? etc.). Why did you choose this form of organization?
How are you planning on making the portfolio aesthetically appealing (for example, are you
adding images, videos, making sure you have a consistent font)? How are you making the page
personal (for example, are you providing an "About Me" section)?

(My Response)For my final portfolio, I plan on using a consistent background throughout the entire
website. On the first page, I will write an "about me" section and I will also have my topics for each page
listed at the top. These topics will be links to the pertaining subjects (introduction, both of my chosen
essays, my blogs, etc.) The reason why I will put the "about me" section on the home page is because this
website is essential about me, and represents my learnings and progress in the class. It demonstrates my
work, what I have learned, and how this class will help me achieve my goal of receiving a Bachelor’s degree
in Business. I like the example in the video of the essays being posted right on the website, so I will try to
use this method as well. I will probably keep my essays separate because they are very different subjects
and are different writing styles, however, I will mostly likely post all of my blogs on the same page. I think
this will make the website look organized and professional. Another way I plan on keeping my portfolio
organized is by using the same font and size. I plan on using a consistent font (including size and color of
font) for all of the readings on the pages such as my essays, blogs, introduction, and "about me" section.
Also, the same font will be used for each topic at the top of the home page such as the words "about me,"
"introduction," "essays," "blogs," etc. In addition to the "about me" section, I will be making the page more
personal by adding pictures. The pictures will pertain to whatever section on the page they are posted to.
For example, in the "about me" section I may post a picture of me or my family, but in the "essay" section I
will post a picture of maybe even video pertaining to that particular essay.

Blog 12:Grading is a subjective endeavor and any grade you receive in the class is somewhat
negotiable. This is especially true with your final grade in the class. For this final posting, I
would like you to write about what grade you think you deserve in the class and why. Cite
specific examples of things you accomplished, why you weren't able to accomplish other things
(ex. why weren't you able to complete all the postings on time, etc.), and the overall progress you
feel you've made in the course. I will take your remarks into consideration when calculating your
final grades in the course.

(My Response)Considering the fact that this is my first college class every, I feel that I deserve an A/A-
. I put much effort into every aspect of the class including all the assignments. Each one of the blog
forums were my true reflections and feelings. I feel that I really gave the forums my all. As far as the
essays, my rough drafts were ok, but much work was needed. After reading your comments, I revised my
entire essay. For example in essay # 2, my rough draft was more of a research paper. After reading your
comments, I realized that my motive was way off. I revised the essay, removing some unnecessary quotes
and I analyzed the advertisement more.
I completed all assignments on time aside from this last week, which were posted within an hour.
The only reason for this was that I was sick all week, and even missed work at my job.
I feel that I have made progress as a writer. I feel my final drafts are much better than my rough drafts.
Before I completed my final drafts, I went back to see what the assignment was really asking for.
I learned to again, keep in mind what the assignment is asking for, which will determine my writing style.
I put my all into each assignment and gave my true reflections in each blog forum.
