2. MY BLOGGING EXPERIENCE
This was the first time that I have used a blog.
My first impression was that it would be more
technical than I imagined.
The blogging tasks involved:
Creating the blog using my ‘gmail’ account,
Selecting a design and theme for our blog,
Adding the other authors of the team,
Writing about the National Library visit.
3. DESIGN OF THE BLOG
I used a simple template that complements the background
depicting books. The template background was used
specifically since the blog is about a library environment.
7. MY BLOGGING EXPERIENCE
I already had a blog account
Was the first time that I had a blog of 'my own'
Had experience in following someone else's
blog from Reference Sources & Info Literacy
study-unit
The blogging tasks involved:
Accepting the invitation as an author in the
team's blog,
Writing about the Archives of the Archbishop of
Malta,
Writing about the Information System at UoM.
8. WRITE-UP 1: VISIT AT THE ARCHIVES
OF THE
ARCHBISHOP OF MALTA

15. WRITE-UP 2:
WRITING ABOUT THE NATIONAL LIBRARY VISIT
Our 2nd visit was held in Valletta’ s National Library where we
were given a lecture about a tender procedure of a digitization
system for online library services.
The procedure from the planning phase to the actual
implementation after the tender is accepted, is not
straightforward.
Many steps and policy guidelines have to be followed in order to
have a successful outcome from planning to purchase.
Blog task included:
The upload of the description
of the process,
Photos taken during our visit.

27. LEARNING OUTCOMES
Familiarity and creation of a blog,
Exposure to an online environment,
Outreach to people interested in this topic,
Teamwork and interpersonal skills,
Enhancing creativity and writing skills,
Getting feedback after posts,
Learning about different perspectives from different
people although on the same topic,
Perseverance obtaining new skills requires commitment
to strive,
Obstacles invariably need to be overcome, as well as
patience, is part of this process.
28. CHALLENGES
Technicality of the blog takes getting used to
especially in settings of creating the design, and
adding authors,
Despite being two people in our team we worked
well together by alternating and sharing tasks,
Overcoming technical and practical limitations,
some things proved, at the time, to be harder than
necessary,
Identifying the limiting problem and its solution is
important; it can be a practical problem or even a
psychological one.
29. CONCLUSION
The concept of a blogging exercise gives
exposure and online outreach with a diverse
audience,
Use of blog for different purposes,
Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
