Blockchain provides many new opportunities across industries by facilitating trust and transparency through decentralization. In Malaysia, all three major crypto exchanges became fully operational in April 2020. There are business opportunities in financial services like payments, banking, insurance, lending, and decentralized finance. Other sectors like gaming, entertainment, data markets, and healthcare may also benefit. However, implementing blockchain brings challenges like lack of interoperability between networks, need for proper development methodologies, transforming legacy systems, achieving mass adoption given current network speeds, finding skilled talent, and cost of transitioning existing systems.
