This document summarizes a student's research synthesizing silver nanoparticles using Ficus microcarpa leaf extract and evaluating their antibacterial properties. The student used the leaf extract to biologically synthesize silver nanoparticles, which were characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy and FTIR. The nanoparticles showed antibacterial activity against several bacteria species based on a well diffusion assay. While the nanoparticles exhibited broad size distributions and reactive properties, further studies are needed to examine their toxicity and potential bacterial resistance development before clinical use.
