Experience
Research in Structural Biology under Dr. Wei-Li Liu - Albert Einstein College of Medicine SURP Summer 2015
 Performed the photo-crosslinking label transfer assay to map the binding interactions between p53 and
RNA polymerase II
 Found strong evidence supporting the conclusion that p53 binds RNA polymerase II on the RPB1 and
RPB2 subunits in vitro
 Presented my research to the Albert Einstein community at the SURP Undergraduate Research Symposium
Research in Electrochemistry underDr. K.V. Lakshmi - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Fall 2014–Spring 2015
 Investigated the effects of varying substituent groups on the redox potentials of quionones, which act as
electron transport cofactors in photosynthetic protein complexes
 Performed cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry studies on a selection of substituted
benzoquinone models via a three-electrode system and a potentiostat
 First Prize for Best Poster in the Theoretical Category at the 2015 RPI Undergraduate Research Symposium
Research in Epidemiology under Dr.Priya Duggal - Johns HopkinsUniversity Summer 2013
 Completed the “Genetic Epidemiology in Populations” course offered by the JHU Summer Institution
 Used Excel to organize data from studies posted on online databases including dbGaP, dbSNP and NHGRI
based on disease type, the level of significance of the study, the effect size and to find genetic associations
between two or more diseases and/or human traits
 Compared the findings of researchers from NHGRI and professors at Johns Hopkins on the disease-causing
potential of 43 sequence alterations with the findings of the online program MutationTaster
Molecular Biology Advanced Lab Fall 2014
 Projects in recombinant DNA technology, cell lysis and purification, as well as the use of PCR and reporter
genes to visualize gene expression
