Before the birth of Jesus Christ, birthdays were often seen as a source of suffering and hopelessness, as illustrated by a quote from Job where he curses the day of his birth. However, with the resurrection of Jesus defeating death, and his birth announced as bringing "great joy for all people," birthdays took on new meaning. Revelation 21:4 promises that in time, death and all sources of pain will cease to exist, since Jesus took away the sin of the world. Therefore, the day of Christ's birth is truly blessed, bringing hope and salvation for all people.
