3. "Eloi or Eli, Eloi, lama sabachthani", Aramaic of Jesus
Before Jesus was crucified and his soul left, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi,
Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--which means, "My God, my God, why have you
forsaken me?“, quoted from <Psalms 22:1>. It means that Jesus made the final
appeal of human suffering to God the Father. This is also to show the
humanity of Jesus. But God the Father did not abandon him, but did it
according to His will.
<Matthew> 27:45 - 제 육 시로부터 온 땅에 어두움이 임하여 제 구 시까지 계속하더니
(From the sixth hour until the ninth hour darkness came over all the land.)(NIV)
27:46 - 제 구 시 즈음에 예수께서 크게 소리질러 가라사대 엘리 엘리 라마 사박다니 하
시니 이는 곧 나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 어찌하여 나를 버리셨나이까 하는 뜻이라(About
the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"--
which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")
27:50 - 예수께서 다시 크게 소리지르시고 영혼이 떠나시다(And when Jesus had cried
out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit.)

So, which country and which language was “Eli Eli lama sabachthani?”
Why did Jesus use these words? Jesus was born in Bethlehem in the Judea,
region of the tribe of Judah, and grew up in Nazareth(nǽzərəθ) in the west-
south of Galilee(ɡǽləlì), and began teaching at the age of thirty<Luke 2:1-52 &
3:21-23>.
Here Nazareth was a community that used the Aramaic language as a
common language, where it was close to Assyria (‘Syria’, of the Bible).
Aramaic was used as the official language of the Neo-Assyrian Empire (BC
912-BC 612) and the New Babylonian Dynasty (BC 625 -BC 539), during
which time, the Assyria Exile/Captivity of the Jews (BC 723-BC 612) and the
Babylonian Captivity/Exile of the Jews (BC 605 to BC 538) occurred.
Due to these long-term historical exile events and the resulting linguistic
influence, the nation of Israel, namely the Jewish nation, forgot the Hebrew
language and used mainly Aramaic as a daily language.

Then the Eastern rule of Alexander III (BC 336 to BC 323) of the Kingdom of
Macedonia (BC 691 or 514-BC 146), and the rule of the Roman Republic
(Republic period, BC 509-BC 27), and the rule of the Roman Empire(Imperial
period, Western, BC 27-AD 476 and Eastern/Byzantine, ~ AD 1453)
respectively, the resulting was that… due to the influences of these
dominations over Israel, Greek or Hellas was also used in everyday
language in the nation of Israel including Galilee.
Thus, from the time of the birth of Jesus as BC 6(B) to the end of the first
century AD, the Israelite(ízriəlàit) used as a mixture of Aramaic, Greek (Koine),
and Hebrew.
Thus, Bible scholars think that Jesus used Aramaic as primarily or mainly,
and occasionally used Greek(Koine) and Hebrew.

However, the four Gospels of the New Testament, and Paul's(AD 5-68) and
the disciples’ letters were written into the Greek Koine. These Gospels and
letters were written about c. AD 50-100 after Jesus' death, during which the
Roman Empire used Greek as its first official language, so they were written
in Greek Koine.
However, when Bible scholars analyzed the words of Jesus in the New
Testament written in Koine, they found that it was close to Aramaic in
context and circumstance, and concluded that Jesus used mainly Aramaic.
The Aramaic word used by Jesus in the New Testament is: ‘Raca = fool, idiot,
empty head’ in <Matthew 5:22(NIV)>; ‘Mammon = money, wealth,
destruction’ in <Matthew 6:24(KJV)> and <Luke 16:13(KJV)>; ‘Tailitha koumi
= little girl, I say to you, get up’ in <Mark 5:41(NIV)>; ‘Ephphatha = be
opened’ in <Mark 7:34(NIV)>; ‘Abba = father’ in <Mark 14:46(NIV)> &
<Romans 8:15(NIV)> & <Galatians 4:6(NIV); ‘Rabboni = rabbi, teacher’ in
<John 20:16(NIV)>; ‘Anathema = a curse be on him’, and ‘Maranatha = Lord,
come! or Our Lord, come!’ in <Corinthians 16:22(KJV)>, etc…

Thus, "Eloi(Eli), Eloi(Eli), lama(lema) sabachthani?“<Matthew 27:46; Mark
15:34> was the word of Aramaic of Jesus.
In annotations of English Bible of the International Standard Version (ISV), ‘Eli’
or ‘Eloi’ is Greek transliterations for the Hebrew, ‘My God’, and ‘lema
sabachthani’ is a Greek transliteration for the Aramaic. And all the English
Bible annotated that it was quoted from <Psalm 22:1>.
As you can see <Bible Matrix ② & ④>, ‘Eli’ or ‘Eloi’ means ‘God or Deity’1)
