This document analyzes the network of trust relationships between users on the consumer review website Epinions.com. It finds that trust is generally not reciprocal beyond individual user connections, except for a large group centered around one node. This suggests trust does not travel through communities but on a user-by-user basis, with the exception of this one highly connected node that formed a miniature community around it. Around 40% of trust relationships were found to be reciprocal.
