He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. A theatre set design for a short story "Boodhi Kaaki" written by "Premchand".
When I started reading the short story for the maquette, it was fairly simple. The main thing in my mind then was that whatever the audience sees, it is sort of in the form of 2D as we canтАЩt really see much of what is happening behind. So to fit the room, the house, the kitchen, dining area and the outdoor seating in a linear manner became a little difficult. After receiving the feedback, before I started making the scaled down model for the theatre, I got more clarity on how to make it less linear and more playful. I realized that I did not have to show everything from the script; it could be small depictions or metaphors. Making the maquette was incredible fun and seeing the finish I got after I painted on foam board was brilliant.
