The East Side Gallery is an international
memorial for freedom. It is a 1.3 km long
section of the Berlin Wall.

The Brandenburger Tor, landmark of Germany. The big entry
of Berlin. You can walk through it and take a walk in the big
park behind it, with shops and hotels for rich people.

Because of Berlins symbol, the bear, you can
find real ones in some parts of the city! All in
all you can find 24 bears living in little parks
surrounded by water, so you don't have to
worry about your safety! And the best thing?
It's completly free!

5. Local customs
If you go into a place of workship there aren't any dress
rules.
Of course you shouldn't walk in a place of worksip wearing a
bikini, wear at least something that covers your breast and
bottom.
Berlin is full of crazy people, called Berlin Freaks, that wear
everything you can imagine. But take care of what you're
saying in public. You shouldn't make jokes about Germanys
history. Neither insult gay people in public. German people
don't like people who judge other peoplein public and maybe
they would understand it wrong.
If you take a taxi or eat in a restaurant, don't worry abot what
to tip. It's your choice! They would'nt be angry if you don't
give them any money. It's not a really comun thing to give
waiters or taxi drivers more than 2 or 3 Euros extra money..

6. Shopping
A good souvenir to take back with you could be one of the famous
Berlin, Berlin shirts and bags or a small bear for your keys, that
you can find in almost every tourist shop. And if you really want to
go shopping visit the big Alexa Hall where you can find nearly every
shop or you can take a metro to Kudamm street,a long shopping
mall. Berlin is the best place to haggle. There are some small
markets in Friedrichstraße, the best ones to find vintage pieces that
no one else has in his wardrobe.

7. Food and drinks
If you like trying food from different countrys, and you want
to get to know what Berliner eat, try Currywurst! It's a
delicious sausage with sauce and fries or Wiener, sausages
with potato salat. But be careful when you eat it, they are
also selled in a really spicy version that you better should'nt
eat if you don't want your throat to burn! You can combine it
with a fresh beer or water, which is drinkable too!

8. So why did you choose Berlin?
nnnThe answer is easy- It's my hometown! I'm born in Berlin Neukölln and
part of my family is still living there. I lived there until I was seven but now
I'm living in a smaller town. I really miss the trouble, the strange people, the
art and music, the different cultures and having all the shops you like in
front of your door.
I also think, it's a really interesting city with a lot of sights and parts you
must visit. And it's really big. You'd never get bored of it!
I personally would recommend you to visit the East Side Gallery, if you don't
know where to go. It's amazing and completly free! It's so much fun taking
photos in front of the wall with the amazing paintings!
