eLearning refers to electronic learning delivered via the internet, intranet, video/audio tapes, satellite TV or CD-ROM. It includes web-based learning, computer-based learning and virtual education opportunities. A Learning Management System (LMS) is software used to deliver, track and manage training/education. LMS allows teachers and administrators to track learner progress in terms of attendance, time spent, and completed courses. The benefits of eLearning on an LMS include reduced training costs by eliminating travel expenses, the ability to train large numbers of learners simultaneously, and providing flexibility so learners can access training anywhere and at their own pace.
